  1. Is there a way to bring a file from a medical MRI into MasterCam? [email protected]
  2. MasterCam has a post for the Model 67 5-axis machine (I know I helped them write it). I do not know if that will work for the Model 53 or not. Give them a call or email me if you want to try it.
  3. I will keep trying this but for the moment those suggestions have not worked. Actually that is how I was doing it. It works just fine if all I wanted was one move from the original. Two moves of the WCS however is another story. It must be me so I will keep at it. Thanks
  4. I could use some help with the WCS. I can get it to work with one WCS change. Example I bring in an IGS file that is in an incorrect orientation. Then I can change the WCS to make a side view the top. Works fine at this point. Now if I need to cut the bottom also I create view select that as WCS and it flips fine. If I then go to the view manager and select the first new view as WCS (by clicking the WCS column and the X shows up) it does not go back. What am I doing wrong? The June 2002 Enews only take it as far as one WCS change. By the way I have tried two different approaches when creating the second WCS. One by creating the second from first new WCS and I also tried it by going back to the original top view and changing it from there with the same results. Just curious, are you using groups in Operations Manager to separate the tool paths with separate NCI names?
  5. WCS, do you like it or wish it never came with V9? I tried to create a Poll but I did not have permissions.
  6. Talk about bad defaults. When 9 first came out in Job setup the Tool Offset Registers was set to “Add” 1 to the length. I knew a lot of folks who crashed parts with this. You selected say tool 2 and you would expect the offset register to also be 2 but it added 1 to it. Those who were lucky had in a shorter tool in T3 than T2.
  7. Is there a way to auto load a custom “Named Level” when starting MasterCam? Currently I have a saved level file which I import into each file via Alt-L, right click, Get Named Levels.
  8. quote: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- V9 Has these features. Layers are(can be) controlled by attributes manager. For print/hardcopy, press F9 then file next menu hardcopy. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Thank you very much for the layer tip James. Please before you get so snotty and self-righteous with your, “thou shouldst readeth thy” you should make sure your advice works. First off there is only one mention of hardcopy in the What’s new pdf or doc and it has nothing to do with the origin. Secondly MasterCam has written this up (request #20555) because it does not work. Try it and see. The axis lines do show up when it goes white screen but they does not plot.
  9. I do it the same way Tony described. Is anyone really using the new WCS method? Moving the coordinate system instead of the part geometry. I would like to hear more of why. I have been using MC since version 3 and I guess old ways are hard to change. I just do not see the benefits of the new WCS.
  10. Wants’ for version 10 ~ It would be nice if MasterCam finally became a true windows program. ~ I also use Solid Works and I would love MasterCam to have the color gradient background and the nice animated fit command. The above needs to happen before this can however. ~ I would like to see color control independent by layers. ~ I would like to see the part origin when I print/plot a part. ~ After you save a part then exit I would love not to see the message that says the drawing needs saved when it just was. ~ I would like to see a Trimetric view. A lot less line overlapping from Isometric.
