  1. Anyone know how I can get the op#'s to output something other than 1,2,3, etc? We use Op #'s 020, 030, 040, etc. Is it something in the Config file?
  2. Hi all, I have a Vertical Ingersoll Gantry mill that uses 90 degree horizontal heads. I need the tool offset to output G43 at 0 and 90 degrees, but G44 at 180 and 270 degrees. Anyone know how to get that output? Thanks, Todd
  3. Ok, Thrash, Right now I save the file as PDF and open it in acrobat and copy and paste the file. The problem with saving it to word is that when it converts to "RTF" format, it loses some of the borders ad pictures. At least with mine it does. Unfortunately I am the one who has to figure out how to get the Nc file into the report. Our Reseller doesn't have any experience with Active Reports so they aren't much help. If you figure out how to get it in there it would be much appreciated. Greyman, Yes we want the pages and pages of code. The operators at the machine want to be able to reference the program on paper and make changes to hand in after proof out. Thanks for the responses guys.
  4. Thanks Thrash. I appreciate the comments. I am currently manually inserting the NC code. I just wish it could be a one-stop set-up sheet witht the ability to include the posted code. I get it, I just don't like the guys having to edit. Thanks, Todd
  5. Does anyone know how to add the NC File to the Active reports? Our shop likes to have the program on the set up sheet. I have customized out reports for everything we need but I seem to be stuck on this. Thanks, Todd
  6. Anyone know how to get the Colors back to X5? I ran the V7 Colors C-hook and now I am stuck in 16 Color mode!
  7. Hi Andre, Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. Can you show me where I can find the mp.dll? Todd
  8. Good day to you all and Happy New Year! I have a quick and probably stupid question but here goes. Is there a way to run 2 posts at the same time? Like a linking post. Why I am asking is that my company used to use Uniapt to program parts. When they posted a program, it would kick out an NC file, as well as what they called a "readout", basically a printout of the program with notes. We have finally gotten the company to switch to Mastercam X5. Alot of our machines are old and can't take comments. So I was wondering if there was a way I could take my post, for instance, my Mpmaster post, and make a copy of it and remove all comments from it, then have 1 linking post that when I generate, it runs the code through both the regular MpMaster for the "readout" and through the "copy post" with no comments for the program? I asked my reseller and they don't think it can be done. I think it can. Any ideas? Thanks much Todd Saladyga
  9. Thanks Guys! I am using the Router 4X Post with the aggregate support. I mount a right angle head and that generates the G18. Thanks for all your help!
  10. Okay guys, I have need of some technical advice. We are having our Ingersoll Bridge mill upgraded from an old Allen Bradley control to a new Fanuc 31i Control. On the old control the Work coordinate system was designated by using "H" values such as H06 = G54. We also used H07 = G55 on the same part.( IE the H06 was for the top of the part, the H07 was for a flange on the side), however, on the old system the operator could input a dimension from the print to get the offset amount from H06 to H07. My question is, Can I use G54 to set the intial work offset, then call up a G54.1 P1 to call for a pre determined(from the print) amount of shift for my G55? Any help is Greatly appreciated. Thanks Todd
  11. Hi all, I am trying to develop a post for an Ingersoll Gantry mill that we are upgrading from and old Allen Bradley control to a Fanuc 31i control. This machine is a large Gantry mill with x,Y,Z and C axis. It has multiple heads for different milling variations. The problem I am having is trying to get Mastercam X5 to spit out a G18 plane comand when I am facing a flange face on the front of the casing(the flange closest to you in the pic.). I have tried to play with the planes in the toolpath parameters page and I cannot get it to spit out anything but G17. Can someone help please? I can send you the file if you want but it was too large to post here. Thanks, Todd
  12. Hey all, I create set up sheets in active reports, but when it generates, the picture of the part always comes out with a white background and the part is hard to see. Is there anyway to change the background to "print" a Black background?
  13. Hi guys. I am programming an Okuma 80yb 5 axis VTM machine. I am going to attach my part. When I drill angled holes, the "Z" comes out different than what we expected. Z zero is the top of the part, yet when I rotate to drill the angled holes, which are below the top surface, my "Z" comes out as a plus number. I think it stems from the center of rotation being at the center of the part in Mastercam. Is this correct? And is there a way to respecify the center of rotattion to be the top of the part? Or can someone tell me how to create new planes at each hole? Is it just simply creating a new WCS at each hole? Thanks all, Todd
  14. I just tried the Snippit Tool! Worked Great! although I still miss being able to use the Screen capture in Mastercam.
  15. I use the Screen>Copyimagetoclipboard function. When I hit Esc. to copy all, then try to paste it to Word, it doesn't work. I will try the snippit tool.
  16. I try to capture the image and when I paste into word nothing appears. It's blank. I have Windows 7 as well. Any ideas?
  17. The sample provided by Okuma is wrong! It is supposed to be G82 for a rough face cycle. That is what the post was giving. A G83 is for material shape edsignation for turning o.d.s Anyways Chris, Thanks for all your help. I have my reseller coming to the shop on Wednesday. We are going to get with Dave at Postablility and get this post working right.
  18. Look for the header area in your post, find the line that shows the format you have now, then paste this line in there and put a # sign in front of the current line. scomm_str, "DATE - ", *smonth, sdash, *day$, sdash, *year$, scomm_end, pe # MON-DD-YYYY

  20. Chris, Thanks for the reply. I did send the developer at postability a good working sample NC file that Okuma wrote for us. The nc file that our post WAS posting out as well as my Mcx file to show the toolpaths so he could actually post what we are programming and compare it to the sample program. Unfortunately, I had to use the "going over their head" routine with our reseller and they finally seemed to get their heads straight. I hated doing that, but with the price we paid for this post, I should have decent customer service. For the record, I think Dave does a great job over at postability. I am not happy with our reseller, nor do I agree with Mastercam's policy of only being able to deal with the local reseller. I believe if companies were able to "shop" around for resellers, that alot of resellers would improve their customer service skills so as to not lose the business. For the record, I tried to get my reseller to deal with you guys, but they said they only deal with postability. After much heartburn, I finally got a post out of postability and my reseller. It is close, however, I am getting a different "G" code when i do a Canned face routine. On the sample program from Okuma the Canned rough face cycle is giving a "G83", however my post is putting out a "G82". Could this be from the part being oriented wrong? Do you happen to know what I should have for orientation for this part? Also I am telling it to leave .01 on X and it is posting out "U-.02" Any idea why this is negative? Thanks, Todd
  21. Does anyone have an Okuma VTM post? I don't want it, I just want to know if it works and where did you get it from. We are having a tough time with postability and I can't believe this is the only VTM in existence. Would like to pay for one. It seems the tech from Okuma told us to get a MULTUS post and when we got it, it doesn't look anything like what the machine needsw to run. The Okuma guy says that we didn't get the right post from our reseller and they are saying this is the right post for a MULTUS. Postability called it a MACTURN. I am new to the Okuma 5 axis Machines andf don't know if MacTurn and Multus are the same. But I know I have a brand new machine down right now with no programs because I need a working post.
  22. Thanks Colin, That did it.I just had to add it to the control file. Todd
  23. Okay guys, How do I enable Block Skips in a program, like below: The post has the "pbld" string already in the lines, just wondering how to activate it. I thought it was through "canned text", but when i open mine there is no canned text for it. Can someone explain to me how it works and if need be how to put it in to the canned text area?
