  1. I'd like to see Mastercam become as user freindly as Rhinoceros, In the design and modeling manner. I currently use Rhino to do all my geometry then import to MC to do my tooling....JMD...
  2. I'm using a Haas VF4 machine. While doing a prerun I received an alarm(302 for you Haas users). The alarm indicated ther was an invalid radius in my "G02" or clockwise interpolation motion. The discription of the alarm tells me to check my geometry, that my radius must be greater or equal to half the distance fropm start to end within a accuracy of .0010 inches. Heres where my code goes all wrong - X1.8446 Y3.7283 R.375 X2.2146 Y5.5501 R.375 I'm pretty sure the problem is some kind of tolerance setting in Mcam, I,ve already tried changing my post processor settings from R to I,J that didn't work. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks..JMD...

    Tool # ?

Thanks Thad, I think you could also do this by going into toolpaths-jobsetup and then checking the assign tool #'s sequentially box. Thanx again,JMD
  4. Um,yoga and self help books, possibly a vacation. Just breath you'll be alright. ...JMD.
  5. Every time I pull a tool from my library that I have configured into my tool operations the tool # changes. Its really no big deal but its annoying the hell out of me is there anyway to change this? Thanx,JMD
  6. Nate, I recently had this same problem with V8 except I wanted to change my G54 to a G55. I'm assuming v8 and v9 are similar in this manner so here it goes. You may need to change two settings depending on how your post is set up. In MC go to toolpaths- operations- perameters- TCplane- check toolplane box- go to work offsets box, 1=G54 2=G55 and so on... (at least on my comp)- run a couple of posts with different settings see if that works. If not go into your .pst file scroll down to the -------------------------------------------- default miscellaneous integer values -------------------------------------------- go to default work coordinate systems and switch accordingly. I had to screw with these settings a couple times to get it right but eventually it worked. Hope this helps, JMD [ 07-10-2002, 04:06 PM: Message edited by: deanj ]

Any helpful hints would be greatly appreciated. THANX, JMD...Cadcam,@Rickenbacker.com [ 07-09-2002, 12:08 PM: Message edited by: deanj ]
  8. Hey thanx BerTau, worked like a charm. JMD...
  9. I've got a Haas VF4 post processor and I was wondering is there any easy way to get rid of those annoying # lines(ex. N123)at the beginning of my blocks? THANKS, JMD
  10. Thanks for all the help guys. I know this reply is kind of late, I was actually was on vacation for the last 10 days, but it was great to come back and find all this useful info. I finally got the damn thing working. Thanks again, JMD
  11. How do i change my G54-G59 settings in mastercam V8? thanks,JMD
  12. I'm new to mastercam and I'm currently trying to set up my post processer for a Haas V4 machine. Basicly I am starting from a standard Haas post and im making two seperate posts, one for my master programs and one for my sub programs. I think I can handle the master program configuration. What i want to know is how do I set up my post processor to set up a tool change before it calls up a subprogram rather than in the sub program? Also how do I tell MC that I'm running a sub program rather than a master? THANKS,JON DEAN - [email protected]
  13. Thanks Trevor, now i just need to know where to set that default in MC V8.
  14. How do I get my Haas post processor to produce a constant G55 output rather than a G54? [ 06-27-2002, 02:39 PM: Message edited by: deanj ]
