  1. Mastercam is the leading CNC programming software in the world. I would say that shops everywhere are having success with it from 2d, 3d, lathe, and wire applications. Some of my customers even use it as their design system. ------------------ Trevor Bailey [email protected] Dealer
  2. With V8, there should be no need for creating "false" geometry. I do not know exactly what you want, but take for example you can control the leads in & out by simply using leadin/out. You can extend or shorten the toolpath accordingly. Hope this helps some. If you would like a more specific answer, send me a sample file with wording explaining what you want to do. ------------------ Trevor Bailey [email protected] Dealer
  3. The icons are pretty good. After a while, people will remember what they are for. ------------------ Trevor Bailey [email protected] Dealer
  4. I agree with James. Plus, lets not confuse people with more "clicks". Just segregate the topics accordingly. ------------------ Trevor Bailey [email protected] Dealer
  5. To do undercut surfaces in V8, use toolpath-next menu-wireframe. You will see ruled, coons, revolved, etc... Expirement with these. There is nothing fancy you need to do, just choose the appropriate toolpath for the undercut. The key word here is expirement. ------------------ Trevor Bailey [email protected] Dealer
  6. I do not know exactly what you need, but I am willing to look at your program for you. You need to e-mail your file to me. Also, I do not know what Version you are running, so export the file as an ".IGES". If the file is more than 1 megabite in size, please use "WINZIP" and compress the file before you e-mail it to me. Have you tried contacting the person who sold the softwae to your company? ------------------ Trevor Bailey [email protected] Dealer
  7. Standard wireframe drafting takes to long to construct, unless you import the file. You can create simple or complex 2d flat geometry and then extrude, revolve, etc... in a matter of minutes. Thus saving time with construction and it gives you a great visual reference and in most cases, you can simply click on a face for machining. All of this can be done in a matter of minutes. Extremely fast for "shop floor" fixturing and so forth. ------------------ Trevor Bailey [email protected] Dealer
  8. Chris, I have a post for the the control you ask for. Please e-mail me at [email protected] if you are interested. ------------------ Trevor Bailey [email protected] Dealer
  9. Different NCI files is the problem. One of my moldmakers that was combining files was doing the same thing. Trevor Bailey San Diego Dealer [This message has been edited by Trevor (edited 10-03-2000).]
  10. I am the San Diego dealer and I will be starting a user group within the next month. I know that this will not help you , but if there are in SDian's out there, let me know if yu are interested. ------------------ Trevor Bailey [email protected] Dealer [This message has been edited by Trevor (edited 09-21-2000).]
