  1. What modifications do I need to make to MPmaster post to output M51 everytime the tool goes to CLEARANCE HEIGHT and M52 everytime the tool goes to FEED PLANE. Sample code: G00 Z3. M51 (Z3.0 is clearance) ----- ----- ----- G00 Z.1 M52 (Z.1 is feed plane) Thanks
  2. I was saving some steps by importing from jobsetup, as I dont have to save operations before improting through job setup. Is this a bug?
  3. I am having problem when I import operations from Job Setup. For some reason it changes the tool in imported operation. Let's say if I am importing a simple countour operation(using 1/4" flat end mill) from file A to a new file B, the tool in file B shows up as 1/6" ball cutter. I don't understand where this 1/6" ball cutter is coming from? Does anyone else have this problem??
  4. How about adding another feature in parallel toolpath "TO MAINTAIN SAME SCALLOP HEIGHT ON ANGLED SURFACES". Now if I have to do a multisurf parrallel toolpath consisting of nearly flat surface and a surface at angle.I have to re-run my toolpath in opposite direction to get same scallop height on angled surface. This feature will save lot of time & might become popular as it could be used on complicated shapes with ups & downs.
  5. Thanks Allan, it worked for me
  6. When I posted a simple facing toolpath, gives me following error: "Selector variable op code 19.0 out of range for string select" I posted the same toolpath yesterday with same post with no problem.. What am I doing wrong? V8.1...Takumi post
  7. If I open some file made in v8.0 in v8.1 i get following error message : "152 currupt entites were not brought in" If you open the same file in v8.0.....no problem. Is any one else have this problem?
  8. I have same problem, on some of my parts when I use multiple TCB's. Most of the time it works great.
  9. Hi kathy, You can't use tool center boundary using flowline method, but I am sure you can use scallop or countour or radial tool path on your part., be sure to setup your construction plane to side or front so that your cutter can go into undercut, let the toolplane set to off. Still lost? Send me your file to: [email protected] I will be able to help you out. As I am machinig lots of undercuts on surfaces. You don't have to spend whole weekend scratching your head
  10. Why my lollipop end mill is showing as ball end mill in backplot??? I have my tool file name configured to lollipop end mill in tool parameters.
  11. I had same problem, Dave told me the following solution for this: Before making any 2d swept toolpath, go to Screen, Next menu, Comb views. Thats all you have to do.
  12. Kidan RAJ, I think Mastercam verify the NCI file, since High Speed C-hook update the NCI file, it should Verify the Optimized path. Regards, Gurinder
  13. Has Anyone done surface machining using 4th Axis? I have to machine a cavity with undercuts, which can be easily accessed using rotary axis. If somebody has exrience on this please guide me where to begin with. Do I need to have a special post to output 4th Axis codes? Thanks.
  14. Hi ProductDevelopmentGuy, I tried optimizing cut order in lot of bottle moulds. I had problem almost everytime, but if it is very simple geometry, half round, flat surface etc. it works fine. But I had problem each time I try to optimize a complex mould cavity. Glad to hear that you are working on it. I can email you some more geometries,if that would be of any help to you. Thanks.

I would suggest following. Finish machine your forging CAD file using parralell finish toolpath. Now take your finished piston CAd file & use TOOLPATH->surface-> finish Countour, & click on REST MILL, set your required stepover & stepdown in rest mill page.Leave +.01->015" on. This will calculate exact geometry of material to be removed from previous operation. Then create one more finish countour pass to make it to size. You dont need to post the very first operaion as it was done only for calculation purpose. Hope it will help.
  16. Allan, I sent you the file, couple days ago, I am not sure if you get it or not???? ProductDevelopmentGuy should have a look into this one too. Thanks.
  17. Hi Dave, I dont have any post that uses the T/C plane 'Work offset' style WCS selection (workofs variable in the post). Can I modify my existing post to use T/C planes, That will save me lots of time. We have 2 differnet controllers, Mitsubishi & Fadal. How do I change my existing post to use WCS output in NC file? Thanks.
  18. Thanks for reply Trevor, I tried shift tool plane, it gives me correct toolpath, but when I post my file, it did not have G55, G56....etc., i.e. the same program is repeated at G54 work offset. How do you make it to output G54, G55.....in the NC file after posting. Do I have to modify my post???? PS I am using V8 with latest patches. Thanks.
  19. How do I program multiple work offsets for 6 parts, using G54, G55______, etc. I can not use subprograms as I am drip feeding the the machine off DNC, because programs are too long for machine memory. The machine dose not run subprograms from DNC. The way I am doing right now is: I copy all operations from operations manager, and go in parameters of all new operations & change the work offset manually to g55, g56, g57...etc. , then I have to regenrate my toolpath.--- Very time consuming if I have triple cavity Moulds. Some time regen time is upto 1-2hrs. Is there any better way to do this. I tried toolpath/ transform could not find anything there where I can change work offsets. Any suggestions???????? Thanks.
  20. How do I change my Speeds & feeds For a library of more than 30 tools to feed rate of 40. & speed of 5000 for all tools in library. Any easy way around than changing all one by one??????
  21. Hi Dave, I tried combviews, it does not help either. I sent my file to [email protected]. Please have a look & see if I am doing something wrong. Thanks.
  22. WHEN I MAKE SOME 2D SWEPT TOOLPATH, & I HAVE TO TRANSLATE MY WHOLE GEOMETRY AFTER I MADE MY TOOLPATH, THE 2D SWEPT TOOLPATH OFFSETS ON WRONG SIDE WHEN I REGEN MY TOOLPATH, THEN I HAVE TO PLAY AROUND WITH PARAMETERS TO GET IT ON DESRIRED SIDE-------ANY ONE ELSE HAVE SAME PROBLEM??????? IS MASTERCAM AWARE OF THIS BUG?????? IS IT GONNA BE CORRECTED IN VERSION 8.1??
  23. Have'nt logged on to forum for a while, I tried every method, but the method described by CYCLETIMECHARLES works best for me. I can make any toolpath (radial, scallop, countour etc.) using surfaces, No need to make any projected coutours. Saves lot of time & headache. No need for tylonol anymore...:-) Thanks Everybody
