Thanks for all the great input. We did call the supplier and it is the right stuff. I agree with everyone on "when in doubt, throw it out" though but sometimes it’s hard to convince the owner... I'll just leave it at that, I think that should adequately show my frustrations.
We have some 5 gal buckets here that we suspect may have the wrong stuff in them. Does anyone know if Velocite No.3 smells anything like solvent? One of the buckets still had the seal on it but the lid may have been removed so we're not sure.
We've been machining a lot of high silicon aluminum and have found that the Zirconium Nitride coating works very well. I use Data Flute ALDH-C and ALDH series cutters. Good luck.
Maybe I was south of Delta, I lived just off of county road D between 3 and 4 on a little dead end street named Forest Lane. We had the last house on the left.
I'd love to know also...
By the way Kelly, how are things in Toledo? I grew up north of Delta and my Dad is still there in Toledo. I went to Whitmer for 2 years of HS.
We made our own here. I can give you an MCX file if you would like, I just don't know how to get it uploaded onto the FTP.... It keeps asking for a username and password. I have used mine on drills down to .015 with no problem.
Yeah we have a sodick small hole machine but its the small one and this huge dome wont fit very well. We are only doing 27 of these with only 4 hole each so I think the endmill will work just fine. I've decided to use the 1/4" Hanita varimill to bore out a .35 hole for my 1/2" slot. We love our hole machine but I would have prefured the Mits because it uses water without any additives. We are spending way too much on the vitol that goes in our Sodick.
