  1. Hello all. I'm trying to run the 32 bit version of X6 so I can cut an Art project. I've got X6 32 bit loaded in XP Mode on my Win7 64 bit system. When I try to open mastercam it tells me it can't find the sim. I ran the drivers_x utility thinking that load the drivers but that didn't work either. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
  2. Hello all. Here's one that has the HAAS guys stumped as well as our Cimco DNC Max tech. We used to feed our mills with FocalPoint and the Power Down @ M30 worked great. We switched to Cimco Dnc Max a few months ago and now this HAAS feature does not work. If you close the software, the mill will shutdown. If you unhook the rs-232 cable, the mill will shutdown. I've re-wired our cable 3 different ways all at the recommendation of the tech people. I have a DB9 at the computer end and DB25 at the mill end. Anybody have this issue or know a fix? Spending money to feed the mills with different setup is not an option. Only two of the 5 HAAS mills are new and have USB ports, the other 3 do not. I know I can feed them with the USB but the remote request is just a lot easier and would olny cure this on 2 mills. Thanks in advance.
  3. Yes, setting #2 is power off at M30. I unhooked our RS-232 cable and with setting #2 turned on the machine shut down like it is suppose to, So there must be a conflict with DNC-Max causing this feature not to work. Thanks Reko for the help. Maybe someone here knows what this conflict might be. I know there are a lot of guys using DNC-Max.
  4. Correct. I just went out and tried it. With the parameter on the machine beeped twice, counted down from 15 sec, at 13 sec it stopped beeping and remained on.
  5. Thanks for the reply Reko. That is the command I'm talking about. All our machines will not shut down when the program is done and it reads the M30 at the end of the program. They used to, but not anymore. They just sit there and beep . Was hoping someone knew what caused this.
  6. Hello all. We have 5 HAAS vertical cnc's. We use the shut down at M30 all the time. It has stopped working. The machines just sit there and beep, won't shut down. We have a new VF5 and new VF6 that won't shut down either. Was hoping someone here had a fix for me. Thanks in advance.
  7. Thanks guys. This is the first time I've been asked for this 3D PDF. It's safe to say we are not going to buy any software to do this. We don't have Solidworks or Acrobat3D. I will have to send him screen shots like I do everybody else.
  8. I have a customer asking me to supply him a 3D PDF file. I know nothing about creating these or what is required. I've read a little on the internet. Could you guys give me some guidance? Thanks in advance.
  9. Hello all. I am looking for new DNC software and was wondering what everybody uses. We have been using Focal Point for several years now and need to replace it. We are having issues feeding our HAAS mills and for some reason the software will shut itself down. I am looking at Predator as an option but would like to get some input from here. I think I just want something simple, simple seems to work longer. We are a mold shop and seldom make the same parts twice. All our programs are custom to each mold and then the nc file is deleted. I have 7 mills (4 HAAS, 3 Milltronics) and 1 HAAS lathe. We are looking at expanding over the next 18 months and will be re-vamping our CNC floor. Maybe wireless DNC is the way to go. Looking forward to hearing what everyone has to say. Thanks in advance.
  10. Is there a way to do something similar in surface fillet?
  11. Trevor, I've seen something similar. I now make sure all my work offsets are set to 0 instead of -1. You can set this in the View Manager for the WCS's. If you need to change a bunch of operations you can use Edit Common Parameters in the Operations Manager by picking all (or just some) the ops and right click. You should see a Planes button, it will bring up a list of the WCS's. After you set all the ops to work offset 0, they might dirty up and you will have to regen. I do this EVERYTIME, NO EXCEPTIONS! Better safe then sorry! Hope this helps.
  12. Good luck. I never had much luck trying to use custom files like the toolbars from older versions. I just recreate the toolbars in the new version. In fact right now in X4 MU3 if look for my custom toolbar file in windows explorer you won't find it, but I can see it and it works fine when inside of mastercam. BUG! or just me not knowing what I'm doing. Maybe X5 will be different.
  13. I got it to work. I had a custom WCS, when I changed to TOP it worked. I hope this fixed for X5. Thanks guys, this one will save me a ton of time.
  14. Guys I was reading this post and I tried to duplicate what was suggested. I couldn't get it to work. First let me see if I understand what the end result should be. I have a group of toolpaths that I would like to have run at 4 different work offsets, G54, G55, G56 and G57. I tried CJep's suggestion and all I got was each toolpath running 4 times at G54. I couldn't get mchin-pilot's to work either. Maybe I didn't understand what was trying to be accomplished.
  15. Hello all. Does anyone know some of the things (bugs, annoyances) that are fixed for X5? One of the biggest time wasters I have is trying to verify toolpath from a custom WCS. You can only verify in turbo mode from the TOP WCS. Verify is a good tool to catch issues before they become mistakes on the mill. X4 MU3 Mill Level 3 Multi-axis Solids
