  1. Thanks guys...I had turned the surfaces to a solid in MC, but that only made the file larger... also tries an .iges file and ended up in worse shape that before...Mulin i will try your approach...the problem is the tub surround has tiles with a texture on them. i had the customer send a file with smooth tiles for roughing and then he seperated each tile for me for my finishing? rather tedious, but I think it'll get the job done in the end. and I am in the process of upgrading as well.. see attached..will this work?
  2. video has dedicated 1GB ram as well
  3. fillet one edge for solids? is that what you're looking for? fillet to surfaces for surfaces
  4. Hockey... step file from Pro E. Jparis...I need all surfaces at once. this mold is for a tub surround. there are hundreds of thousands of tiny triangular surfaces? even on flats? Jay i think that answers some of your questions too? My first thought was to check for duplicates as well...none.
  5. I have a mold to make and the file the customer sent me has 1193 untrimmed and 324035 trimmed surfaces. my poor 'puter is having a conniption with that!!! any thoughts or ideas on how to shrink the file? 243,360KB
  6. I agree with James, good job, BUT are there any plans to use the actual post?
  7. my offset is fine on three axis stuff, however as soon as my axis flips sideways it's all messed up. Seems like it is still picking up the offset(Z) for my A axis rotation and is not offsetting at all in X and Y for my tool offset. Any suggestions?
  8. Thanks...that did the trick
  9. sorry guys..i've re-posted
  10. I am trying to import an stl file. After mutiple attemps and letting it work for over an hour I am still getting nothing. What am I doing wrong?
  11. i am trying to open an stl file. it seems to try and open it , however after repeated attempts and letting it work for over an hour i am still unable to open it? Am I doing something wrong?
  12. in your drill point manager right click and open sort options. are you selecting points or line endpoints? i've had funky things happen with endpoints sometimes?
  13. hmmmm. this is a new one. all my interface capability is gone from my editor? i can't even right click anywhere to get a menu? any ideas?
  14. Dan...I messed around with that...i can change angles but i can't get it to follow the edges? Pip..that will work, except i need to turn tool compensation off and then my edges will vary with resharpened tooling not?
  15. I'm sorry I don't think I clarified that i want 5 axis movement. the surface project paths work fine but they are only working in 3 axis
  16. i tried the project5 c-hook as well. i can only get that to cut in one direction.
  17. Hardmill...i need some more advice. i'm not seeing the option to select the 2d toolpath? sorry for my ignorance
  18. Why did I not know that? another one for the forum! thanks Hardmill
  19. Is there a way to cut a surface with something similar to say an overlap spiral method rather that zigzag? I am cutting wood so this would be helpful to prevent chipping.
  20. I need to turn a photo into a surface. Anyone have artwork and want to make a couple bucks?
