  1. Hi, I would like to know if anyone has any input on this particular control. 2000 Fanuc O M Is it safe to set Mastercam to do Full arcs, Half arcs, or quadrants. Does anyone have the same control and are they using Full arcs? Thanks
  2. Thanks everything installed fine
  3. I was just wondering if these settings are standard for most everyone's machine? I do not see why my machine would not be able to read the code with any problems? Has anyone ever had to change these settings?
  4. Okay, Update - I checked the cable and pulled it down and made sure there was nothing interfering with it and I re ran the program. It still did the same movement and gouged the part in the exact same spot as before, So I don't think its the cable. Below is the link to the video http://s1113.photobucket.com/albums/k518/Michael_Yellowhair/NASA%20Part/?action=view&current=VID_20120624_125512.mp4 G CODE BELOW - I was able to find what is giving me problems. G2 X.0518 Y-3.882 I.2775 J.3219 X.0517 Y-3.8813 I.425 J0.(I WAS ABLE TO PIN POINT TO THIS SPOT HERE, I MEASURED THE FULL CIRCLE GOUGE AND IT MEASURES 1.600 DIA) G1 X.0518 Y-1.8761 ^^^^^^^I Wonder if the .0001" movement in X and .0007" movement in Y while trying to create a .425 arc is causing the machine some problems??? 1.600 DIAM - .750 ENDMILL = 0.850/2=0.425 RADIUS WHICH IS SHOWN IN THE CODE ABOVE I will make some parameter adjustments in the Control definition and hopefully this will fix the problem.
  5. I just uploaded to the FTP site under MYELLOWHAIR GCODE MYELLOWHAIR PART
  6. I have it set to break arcs at quadrant. This was one of the first settings that I made after the installation.
  7. Fanuc om 2000 supermax 1 rebel Drip feed I believe its 300 baud rate This is the thing, I have never had problems drip feeding or running part in the past. I do remember though which I want to check out is the rs232 lines had been rerouted and I need to look at it today to see if they are to close to any lights. I should know in a couple hours. I want to pull it down to original and run part again. I will post the code at that time.
  8. Yes I was drip feeding through cimco editor.
  9. @jparis I made some changes since I last emailed you. I changed the cutter to a 3/4 and made some depth adjustments but otherwise its the same program. I can send you my code later today when I get in to work. All your ideas are very helpful. I will look into it.
  10. Oh yeah, I definitely have the full retracts, I have a habit of making sure of this.
  11. I can but I can't find anything on where to upload files. I will keep looking and let you know when I have it uploaded. Thanks
  12. Below are a few of the pictures that I have taken but I also included a link which shows more pictures of the part Click on this link to view more pictures of this part that I posted on Photobucket
  13. So I used the Surface High Speed (Optiarea) and it scrapped out my part. I was impressed at first when I started running my part but then out of nowhere it gouges into the finish wall of my part. I don't know what to do now because it was a 1 piece order and the material just cost me 350 bucks. Does anyone have any ideas what could of happened? It looked good on the screen and verify, I have my settings as quadrant for my arcs. I have never had any problems with X3 or X2. I was running X3 previously and just renewed my maintenance and installed X6, kicking myself and should of just stuck with the normal pocketing cycles.
  14. I didn't know it took so long to process and its working now
  15. there is a green symbol next to the stock model under toolpath group but its been like that for an hour now. Am I missing something?
  16. I only have the one file and I am saving directly to my local hard drive with no networking. @Jparis - could I send you my file shortly to have you look over my settings? I would really appreciated since I am new to the opti area and opti rest. Thanks
  17. hmm really weird stuff... Everything was looking really good and then just when I was verifying again. The whole thing shut down and ask to send a report to Mastercam which I did. The problem is I have been saving and when I opened the file again, it was not the last place I had saved previously?? It actually went back further than where I had saved. When I opened the file, a message came up that two corrupt files where not brought in??
  18. Thanks guys Machine - 7k max spindle Material- 6061-T6 I ended up using area clearance with rest roughing. The problem now is finishing. Hybrid takes too long to finish the floors with a ball I just want to use a ball on the walls and rads and a flat endmill on the floors
  19. I just installed X6 coming from X3. I would like to rough out the pocket of this part. My questions is what path would you guys recommend, I am thinking about using the "opticore" path. This part is roughly 30 inches long and 12 inches wide and depth of 2.4"
  20. Thanks I am running Windows 7 64bit with the X3 at the moment. My X3 is actually under mcamx and it was self installed in this directory. I was just curious if the new install will also install in this directory or should I create a mcamx6 directory for the new install?
  21. I have been using X3 and just renewed my license. My question is there anything I might need to know when upgrading to X6? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Do I need to uninstall X3 completely or can I just install X6 with X3 still installed? It looks like X6 just came out and was wondering if its pretty stable compared to previous versions? Thanks
