  1. I just converted the solid to surface and extended the surface. worked fine
  2. [ 3- I used pencil but I wonder what the best to get the leftovers on the wall I am not sure how to post photos but here is the link to my picture http://i1113.photobucket.com/albums/k518/Michael_Yellowhair/emastercam/mastercam2.png
  3. I would like to know which path would be best for this part. 1-part has .375 radius and I am using a .750 dia ball endmill so its right to size. 2-my goal is to run a cutter to cut the wall and follow path of radius - kind of like a 3d contour cut I am not sure how to post photos but here is the link to my picture http://i1113.photobucket.com/albums/k518/Michael_Yellowhair/emastercam/mastercam.png
  4. tool and cutter grinder located in Mesa, AZ. The name is Tan Tek Tools 480-225-8854 - not sure where you are located?
  5. yes that worked - Thanks I could of sworn i used system back and bottome before with no problems in x2? Oh well at least it was something simple
  6. okay i will let you know what happens
  7. I tried a generic post and its still posts a 180
  8. Mastercam X3 I have a basic cylidrical part with 4 holes at 90 degrees apart on the outside. My wcs is set at top - my tplane set at top(hole 1) front (hole2) bottom(hole3) and back (hole4) everything looks good on verify and simulation problem - g code has A0 (correct) A90 (correct) A180 (correct) A180 (incorrect) I can't find settings in my post processor to see if its maxed at 180? Machine defintion is VMC A axis is set Min -3600.00 Max 3600.00 Shortest distance CW
  9. I was able to figure it out using advanced mutli 5-axis swarf. I cant control how the b spins because we are using a trunnion. The trunnion doesn't tilt shown in verification so that is why the b axis is rotating to compensate Thanks
  10. can i send this file to anyone so they can take a look? is there a way to upload
  11. I don't see the fanning option? is swarf the same as 5axis curve. Im using X3
  12. I will give it a try. I didn't understand because i dont know how to do it. I will tinker with it and see what happens. So basically i create a new plane from one of the walls and run a 2d pocket path? I guess i was confused because I needed the 5axis
  13. does anyone have a good Hass 5 Axis post that utilizes the HRT210? Maybe my post is just not set up correctly - I am using the Generix 5x post. Sorry if I posted in wront area
  14. I could probably live with the b axis rotating but: 1- I add depth of cuts to my curve 5 axis and it seems to take different passes at different depths 2- the rotary is choppy when it cuts I just cant figure out how to fix these
  15. I would like to have A and B axis have minumim tilt and then let the X and Y make all the moves, right now the X and Y are really not making any travel movements and the B axis is spinning the part to meet the cutter path. Im not sure if I am explaining it correctly
  16. Hi, I am machining a 5 axis curve part(basically its a pocket and the walls are angle inwards a couple degrees). I am driving my tool along the curve and it looks good on verify. I run it on the HAAS machine and the B axis looks like its moving around the cutter the b axis is moving 90+ degrees to machine the part. 1 - Is there a way to get the A and B axis to have minimum movement and just have the X and Y profile the pocket? Thanks
  17. I accidentally deleted all my tool operations! does anyone know how i can restore it. i made alot of change in past ten minutes and i dont want to start over.
  18. Thanks for the information. The tip on using and modifying an existing tool worked out great!
  19. Hi, I would like to know if anyone would happen to know why i am recieving this message? "Problems with custom tool file or data" I created a custom slot mill in undefined tools. This is basically a slot mill with a 20 deg angle on it. If anyone can take a look at my file - i would really appreciate it.
