  1. I thought the first class was very informative. Colin does an excellent job, not only does he show "where" and multiple "hows" to find the information you want to change in the post, but he also includes the why and what all is important in getting the proper output. I had taken his post course about 2 years ago, and although part of the material he covered was a repeat, I was still able to pick up many useful things. It is obvious that Colin has been doing this awhile and enjoys it, but I think he's an excellent teacher that can explain the material in a manner that most can understand. I know the material will get much more challenging on part 2 and 3, but part 1 was educational, and even with working 7 hours before the class I was able to keep up.
  2. Are you ramping? If so, in the cut parameters page, where you set ramp data is a "Linearize helixes" that some times gets checked.
  3. Start by picking your Lathe under Machine Type, then under Settings, open your Machine Definition Manager. Click the "Machine Parameters" Icon, click the "Cplane, WCS, HTC/VTL" tab, and you will see the "+D+Z" that you are wanting. I hope this helps.
  4. I'm still in the day of MC9. And my post is MPLOKUMA. I have tried many ways, the way that is now working I know is wrong, and I don't want it to bit me. The post wants to output "G96 S500" (Surface Speed), then on the following line output "G97 S214" (Start up RPM). The control alarms out, it wants Start up RPM first. This is so far the only way I have got it to work, prpm #Output for start spindle speed = speedrpm pbld, n, *sg97, *speed, *spindle_l, pgear, e speed = g_speed if css_actv, pbld, n, *sg9697, *speed, e pcss #Output Constant surface speed speed = g_speed if css_actv, pbld, n,"(SURF SPEED ", *sg9697, *speed,")", e !speed I have looked for switches at the beginning of the post related to css but I don't see it in this post. I'm sure someone has figured this out, and I would sure like to know how. The machine is an Okuma Crown Lathe. Thank you all in advance.
  5. The controls are Fanuc 6T. I have been able to edit the toolchange section of my posts. I haven't had much luck with the rest of the "G0's". If possible I would also like to make the "F200." a varible, depending on the actual lenght of the rapid move. Needless to say I haven't been real successful or impressed with my MC dealer support. Thanks again
  6. Is it possible to edit a post so that all G0's are output as a G98 (IPM),next block a G1 instead of G0 with a F200. for feed, then a G99 (FPR) prior to a G1 with new feed of say .015 ? Our lathes are older,do not have a rapid override, and this gives me more precision in rapid moves. Thanks much!
