  1. Hey Noel what type of font is it then. Is it a SHX font or a autocad font. I might be able to convert your font into a True type font and save you some time. upload the font on the FTP and I will see what I can do with it. Let me know if I can help you out.
  2. I just recieved my upgrade to v9.1 and looking around I saw that it now has the option to use Visual Basic. What exactly are the uses and benifits of VB for MC. I have never taken a VB class and have only read about it. How hard is it to learn if it is benificial to to MC. Any info will be greatly appreciated.
  3. Thanks guys for all the help I really appreciate all the help you have provided.
  4. Thanks for the reply Sandybar where is exactly are you getting that size aluminum for that prize my distributer was going to charge around $1000 for 6061 aluminum.
  5. I was wondering what you guys use for prototype material. I need a piece around 12.5" x 8.5" x 4.5" Plus cost is a major factor. Anyone have any suggestions.
  6. Thanks Cadcam, that is what I was looking for. Now lets hope it does what I am thinking it does.
  7. Anyone know of any organization software. I thought I came upon one on Mastercam.com website but cannot find it. I have a huge project in the process for my final project and so far I have averaged around 200 parts and I need some help organizing. So any help will be great.
  8. Thanks Kevin, for all the help. The reason why I am not using the nesting is because I am using the student version and educational version which isn't avaliable. Thanks again for everything I really appreciate it.
  9. Thanks Kevin, I tried contacting my reseller but with the blizzard up in Denver they were closed. One last question what are you using for a tool or are you just making one. Also have you tried the Omax Post processor. The reason why I am asking is I have that post and it does export as a *.ord Plus is nesting necessary? 10. CMR are you French "Just Kidding" You bring up some good points but then again those are simple answers. However everyone that asks the questions you are are forgetting about one major question? Why hasn't Iraq shown proof of the destruction of all of thier biological weapons that they said they had 12 years ago? I also must say states like Iraq, Iran, North Korea and quite possibly Saudi Arabia have and are sponsoring terrorism. It just happens to be that Iraq has performed terror attacks against thier own people and neighboring countries. War is never wanted by anyone in the right mind. However war is necessary to put insane political figures out of power before they do something that the whole world will regret. I would rather have war right now today before we see another day like 12/7 or 9/11.
  11. Well I guess I will add my few cents. I am surprised it took twelve years to finally go in and take Hussain out. It should have been done already. My only concern is North Korea and some of the outlining arab states. I just wish some countries would wake up and think what the world would be like if it wasn't for all the sacrifices we made to keep thier lifes safe. Last but not least don't forget to have some Freedom Fries and not those crappy French Fries
  12. Hi Kevin, can you explain exactly how you are using MasterCam for your Flow WaterJet. I have a Flow Bengle waterjet and have been using Autocad, Flow Path, and Flow Cut software and well I am not caring to much for the software, and that is being polite. Are you able to set the toolpaths for the flow machine and save it as a *.ord file. Also what is the name of the post processor so it doesn't take my re-seller for ever to figure what one it is. Any info on this will be greatly appreciated.
  13. Well first off it was a 3d wireframe model I made about 3 years ago and has been sitting on a disk ever since and was created in autocad for any info that may be needed. Anyway I just uploaded it to the unspecified folder at the FTP site. The name of the file is Camaro2.dxf Thanks for the help so far.
  14. I have a 3d DXF file that I converted over to mastercam and now want to put a surface on it. I am probably missing something easy but I always get some wierd surfaces on the part.
  15. Thanks guys for the quick response. I origianlly used the one on predators web site, however I just filled out the form at your web site. By any chance do you know on the price of virtual predator and if there is a edu version. Thanks again for all your help guys.
  16. Well I am about to give up on looking but hopefully someone might be able to help. I first tried Vericut however my reseller does not sell it nor after a couple e-mails to vericut can I get any info. So I went to predator and tried downloading thier demo which I got but for some reason I have never got a password sent my way. So I am looking for a CNC simulator, and hopfully can find a edu version. I do not need anything huge, as I will only currently check a few self written programs and some mastercam nc files. Anyone have any ideas what I might go with or have any ideas.
  17. Thanks Marc, however I have been through both volumes. It was a great book even at the high price tag
  18. I have already picked up most of the tutorial manuals from this site. However I was wondering if anyone knows where I might pick-up the Northwest Techs books or know of any other mastercam books that are worth purchasing? I am only two weeks into my first mastercam class and already done with all 30 projects that were due for the class. I am really enjoying Mastercam but I would love to learn the program as best as I can. Thanks for the help
  19. Well that sucks. Although I have learned alot from this place it is in terms lacking. I am only 3-4 months into learning mastercam. However being 4 years in with Autocad, 2 years with Pro-e, 10 years with Studio Max, and 5 years with lightwave I would think that there would be other mastercam resources. Not to sound wrong or anything but there just isn't that much informative info on this site. To be honest I think this is the first program that I have learned more from a book than online. Ooooo wellll glad to be here
  20. I was wondering if anyone knew of any other good mastercam resource sites out there on the web. I have searched high and low and this is the only site that offers any type of support or advice on technigues and what not.
  21. I will be starting on designing my first few chess pieces for my CNC lathe class and I was wondering if there if anyone knows of a place where I can see pieces that have already been made. I just want to get some ideas and add some of mine ideas and so on. Thanks
  22. I was hoping someone could answer this question for me. I am going to purchase the Apprentice Package for next semester. However I was wondering if it is a waste of money to buy the Home Learning kit now? Also does anyone know what manuals, books, or tutorials that come with the Apprentice Package? Any info will be great.
