Try running RAM-saver especially after deleting ops.

I dont have X installed any more (and I dont remember for sure), but if you read what Colin Gilchrist wrote, that may work for you.
quote:For machining an STL file in X3, you do not need to "import" it. Just create the toolpath you want, and instead of selecting surfaces, pick the "CAD file" button and navigate to your STL model...
-
This just happend to me, but instead I had a solid selected in my "stock setup". It took 5 minutes to a generate simple 2D toolpath. Did you report this to QC at Mastercam?
Funny thing is you can see Mastercam looking at the solid even though its not needed for this 2D toolpath. What I mean by "looking", its redrawing the solid as if to shade it.
-
In X3 you must import the STL as a mesh not lines.
File, open (select STL file type), click the option button and select import as STL mesh, then open the file.
-
Do you have helix support turned on in the controlmachine definitions?
-
quote:quote:quote:and do not use solids for drive geometry anymore.Same here I almost always drive off surfs, theyseem to have always givin better results.
And surface toolpaths regenerate faster too. -
You can put the file on ftp.mastercam.com in the customer areato mastercam. You should not need any sort of username or password. Just be sure to email them the file name and any other info they might need.

If you are talking about "Mazatrol 3D" that is a paid option and the dealer will have to turn that on for you.
But if you are talking about the regular Mazatrol I'm pretty sure that is standard and is ok to turn on or off, especially since it is listed in the regular parameter book.
F80 (right most bit - there are 8 bits XXXXXXX1 or XXXXXXX0 the X's are place holders for other options)
Mazatrol
0 = valid
1 = invalid
If you have never changed parameters before read below;
First copy down the entire string (all 8 bits). Move the curser to the right of F80. Now retype the first 7, then change the last one and hit input.
For example;
01100001 (mazatrol off)
01100000 (mazatrol on)
Of course I dont know what your other 7 bits are, so make sure to use the ones you have.

+1 to what Crazy said on getting a PDF, but maybe this will help for now;
For my VTC16A with Mplus controller
Set the values under Tape not DNC on the parameter screen.
G1 (baud rate)
0 = 19200
1 = 9600
2 = 4800
G2 (stop bits)
1 = 1
2 = 1.5
3 = 2
G3 (Parity)
0 = even
1 = odd
G4 (parity check)
0 = Invalid
1 = valid
G5 (data bits)
2 = 7
3 = 8
G6-G9, G12, G14-G16 = 0
G11 = 1
G10 (Handshake)
3 = complies with control code
G13 (wait time in 0.1 sec)
600 = 60 seconds (from the time you hit start to the time you hit send on the PC - before the Mazak times out)
-
If you have a Mazak paramter book, the baud rate, parity... start at G parameters.
A standard null-modem cable should work.
Note below, the parameters on the PC side do NOT match what is on the Mazak.
Mazak parameter
4800 bps
8 Data Bits
2 Stop Bits
No Parity
DC Code Handshake
ISO Data
Windows PC
4800 bps
7 Data Bits
2 Stop Bits
EVEN Parity
XOn-XOff Handshake
ASCII Data
Also use 'Tape' this allows you to send and receive EIA programs.
Download Mazak_RS-232.pdf from cadcam's FTP site (the link is at the top of this webpage) It's located in the folder /Text_&_post_files_&_misc/
Search the forum, I'm sure you will find some more info. The search link is also at the top of this webpage.

"Clear colors" won't clear a groups colors, it only clears xformedcopiedmoved geometry colors. Those are two different things. Did you try what I suggested?
Edit
D*mit Cuda84...
-
Also there is a setting in the System configuration, colors, group colors, use entity colors (or use group colors). You can also separately select Use group and result color in xform.
Edit
Yeah what Cuda84 said
-
Possibly they were in a "group". In X click on "groups" button at the bottom of the screen. Select a group and then colors, then use entity colors.

Hmm... When I try to ask webby for permission my email bounces.
I think their email server doesnt like mine.
I'll try from a different email account.

I stand corrected, gcode is right. BTW if anyone is interested, here is the link... sunset scroll down to the bottom of the page to view the sunset info.

quote:will X5 be able to open a X1 file????
Nope. There are a few threads on the subject (do a search), and I recently added it to the enhancement request thread.
-
I have a similar batch file to Greg's above. I also use "Scheduled Tasks" in the Windows Control Panel and set it to run the batch file every night.
-
Me too!
After creating a toolpath, I then copied it and changed some parameters (stock to leave). Ran Ramsaver and saved the file. Then when I went to regenerate it, I got the same error you described. "Error in Win32 MemMap..." with the word "Debug" and a "ok" button. Hmm... gonna send it in to QC...
-
I've imported some STL meshes, but have not had any errors. Have you tried restarting MC? does the error come right back? Have you tried running Ramsaver?
-
Yup, got an email back this morning...

bug number cnc00038388
Regarding STL Mesh (Polygonal Mesh) entities;
STL mesh enities are always visible when one selects the "only display associative geometry" button in the OP manager (toolpath tab), even if it is not being used for a toolpath.
I'm BACK!!!!!
