where and when
-
I do that but it takes forever. I run the same thing on v9 and v9 goes 10 times faster.
-
I am programming a job right now and when I verify, it takes for ever. I verify the same program on v9 and it runs fast. Is there settings that I can adjust to make it faster? On this program Mastercam x2 is not alowing me to backplot. I am using surface rough pocket program with the high speed options.

I finally made the change to x and I can program a lot faster then before. That is worth the change in itself. The new tool paths that x has are incredible.

I want to thank you guys for helping. I made a surface and a boundry and the toolpath stayed inside.

I am running a program right now and have a question. I want the tool path on surface high speed core roughing to stay inside a boundry. I can not find what keeps it in. I chose the button to stay inside boundry and it still goes out. Can somebody help.

I have a quick question on X2. I finally got the control and machine definitions set. I need to know how to have my defaults linked to the right machine. When I pick a machine type I want to have a default set to that machine. Is it possible to link a default to a machine.

I feel like an idiot. I read all the information in the book on how to do it and still nothing. I will have to call matercam dealer and have them come out and do it. I have been doing it the same as the book told me to do it. It still is telling that it is a corrupted file when I open mastercam and pick the machine type. I have spend many hours messing around with this. I want so bad to go to x2 but it just will not work. Sorry for asking for the same thing over and over but I am upset that I can't get it. This is the only thing holding me back from using x2.

Thanks, I will read and try it again.

I will check it out tomarrow.
Thanks

I am having the hardest time with getting my computer setup on x2. I am getting ready to go to x2 finally. I am not fully understanding the control definition and the machine definition. I have to machines that can use the same posts so I was just going make a copy of one and rename it. The only difference between the machines is a M code. I took the posts that I have from v9 and ran the run user application on both of them and one is good and the other said it is a currupt file. I want to have it separated. Anyways if anyone could explain it to me that would be great.
Thanks

I will do.

Thank you very much that did it. I am starting to like version x2 better and better.

I wish I could figure it out. I feel like an idiot. I have no idea how to set the default settings in version x2. I go to system config and can find the folders with no problem but I can not figure out how to set anything. There is a big gap in my brain tonight. I want it set up so it is always set on wear and clearance is set to 1 inch. I need my tolerance to be set by default. I can not figure it out.

In version 9.1 I was able to go to system configuration and set all my settings. I want to know what I need to do in version x2. I am finally starting to convert myself from version 9.1 to version x2. I have no problems with the programming part, I just can not figure out how to setup everything.

I am having a hard time learning how to make my cofig files for x2. I do not understand how to do it. Can somebody explain it to me. My brain is drawing a blank.

I have a question about post possibilities. Just to explain how I run my machine. I have a main program that calls up my sub programs, I do this for a couple reasons. I can search faster for the tool that I need to run, I can control the order in which I run the tools. What I want the post to do is post the main program out as a separate program. Right now we hand write the main program and I want to get rid of the human error involved with that.
My main programs look like this:
(main program)
G90 G40.....
G54 M198 P1001;
M117;
T2;
M6;
G54 M198 P1002;
M117;
T3;
M6;
G54 M198 P1003;
M117;
T4;
M6;
G54 M198 P1004;
M117;
T5;
M6;
G54 M198 P1005;
M30;
The P1001 stands for operation #1 tool #1. When I program a job I put each tool under it's own operation group so when I post them out they are posted out separately as sub routines. So I would like it to take the names of the operation groups and make the main program from that.
Is this possible?
Any help would help a lot.

Thanks a lot. Today will be the first program for the company in x2. We went away from MasterCam because our old general manager wanted to go to ug, but now we are staying with MasterCam.
-
I have one more question. How do you extend a line. Like v9 it would be modify extend.
-
That's why I like that forum so much.
Thanks everybody.
I want to see him play. I will call my brother and find out when the next game is.

Thanks hardmill.
What about coping something to another level. That is the only thing that I cant get.

I have some simple questions about MasterCam x2. I can't figure out how to squash and also how to copy something from one to another. I know how to move something from one level to another but I just can't find where to copy. I use squash alot but can't seem to find it.

Now that I can verify faster. Does anyone have the same problem I am. I am using surface rough pocket with high speed option turned on and when I try to backplot Mastercam shuts off.
