Everyone I talk to uses mostly the old toolpaths. With all these high speed machines out there Mastercam should make the toolpaths that everyone likes into HSM. Especially the finish toolpaths. It’s even easier on the old machines.

Is mastercam eventually going to drop the none 3d HSM toolpaths? Why hasn't there been any changes to them since X came out? Our shop try’s to use all the 3d HSM toolpaths but we still need some of the old style because they haven't been replaced. Any thoughts?

A shallow and leftover toolpath for HSM.
More HSM toolpaths
Machine and control definition more user friendly.
All the bugs from X6 to be fixed without new ones.

It’s a never ending battle Hitachi, I have 11 computers running Mastercam X6 Mu1. 4 are top of the line with windows 7 and it does it on all of them. Never had this problem till X6. I just tell everyone to restart your computer every 3 hours and it seems to be ok. 2 min to wait and restart a computer 3 times a day adds up but not worth a broken computer because you want to throw it across the room.

Thats great!

Thanks Millman, that is one thing we have not tried and will be doing. Thanks for the help.

Thanks for the replay Machineguy. Yes we have a vac. We can cut all day long on the table saw but we need to cross cut with the rip saw. We have had blade experts looking at this problem and they can't seem to figure it out. Someone out there has the secret and I was just curious if they might be on here to pass it along. We cnc this material once we cut from stock.

Does anyone cut tooling board, foundry board, or urethane board with a radial arm saw? If so and have had success do you mind sharing your secret? Every 14"-16" saw blade we have tried has been unsuccessful. The blade runs and jams up the machine. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I definitely agree with Tim. Have been burned in the past not having these files backed up. I've had Config files, Control defs, Opp files and post files reading from the server for years and haven’t had any problems. We have 7 work stations and they are all set up to read these files. Then the server is backed up daily. Reading these posts Im a little worried that some day I could start having issues.

I have the same problem and has only done it since installing X6. There are no applications running! Does anyone know a way around this problem.
