Hello, Anyone ever come across Renishaw tool setter flashing green, green red lights? Ive replaced the batteries but every time I put the batteries in it goes through its normal cycle but then flashes green, green then red. Never stops unless I take the batteries out. Thanks, Jason

Yes, great way to think of it. Its a killer combo using Whisperkuts and Dynamic Milling. We have been using them for everything.

Had an HTC break from a program error and compared the carbide on the inside to a Titan cutter and seems like the colors are a lot different. Does anyone know what that means?

We had to cut 8 relief pockets in 64 steel plates. These pockets were 3 inch deep. 2 years ago we ran the same job and each plate took 4 hours and 40 min to machine. This time around we Used WhisperKuts from Dura-Mill and reduced the run time down to 27 min using dynamic milling. Just thought I'd share. Happy Boss.

If we have a lot of material to remove on a job we use Dura-Mill's WhisperKut. They work great with dynamic milling.

I get the same thing Jeff. I get a little plus sign when I click instead of the line. I have to exit in and out of the line function for it to work. 2 extra steps to create a line is no fun.

Thanks JParis Thats what I'm Thinking. Run them on the not so critical parts and see what happens. I guess HTC does a lot of private labeling so chances are I have used them in the past.

HTC Tool brand was just added to my local distributor and just looking for any feed back. They are the least expensive Carbide End mills I've seen. They say the quality is great and HTC is one of the largest Manufactures but the price is unbelievable for American made in my opinoin. Any feedback would be appreciated. Not sure why they don't just make the old ones better. All the High Speed ones just don't cut the same. The Pencil Toolpath has a mind of its own. The old leftover toolpath was flawless.

Can you give me an example of the toolpaths you would use to machine out the inside cavity of a mold?

Yes, thank you. Id really like to use the latest and greatest but haven't found any that doesn't leave me benching out the molds after they come out of the machine.

What are people using in place of the old school toolpaths? We machine molds and it seems like all the new toolpaths don't have the options to start at the top of a cavity and work its way down. The waterline would work great but adds cuts on slightly angled floors. The Hybrid makes cuts right in the middle of the vertical wall. The only toolpaths that work for us are the surface finish contour and surface finish shallow. The contour starts at the top and evenly cuts down. The shallow comes and cleans up everything left. Seams like these toolpaths are going away in the new versions. Please any guidance would be appreciated.

Thanks for the response. I have done all that and I have a new code. Its saying my sim code is active and current. I had the Bata downloaded a while back that I uninstalled and re-installed new. Could that be part of it?

Just installed 2017 and its saying no Mastercam license found. Do you have activation code? I have my sim set the same way as I have for X9 and all previous versions. Anyone know what to do?? Where do I find activation code?? Thank you

We machine a ton of 65-45-12 Ductile Iron Castings and use Mastercuts GP 4 flutes. We machine them dry with just air blast. Once in while we will machine some steel castings but usually low quantity and they seem to hold up as well. We buy them from a local place tigertoolsupply.com

We have been using them a lot now and for $25 for standard 1/2" you can go wrong. Great quality!

Our carbide scarp company told us to hold off on selling right now until price per pound goes back up. Hopefully hes right! We use Monster general purpose endmills all day long. Made in the USA and great quality. When we need to remove a lot of material fast we use Whisperkut from Duramill. Tiger Tool Supply has both brands and they seem to have good prices.

I'm liking 2017 a lot. Same layout as SpaceClaim.
