    A2 Steel

James I agree with the guys above. I do tool and die work. A-2 is the best. Just cut it to size and heat-treat. Make sure to leave radius in corners because that is a fracture point after heat-treat. Like the guys above said just use the suggested speed and feed. Machinist handbook even has them for A-2. After heat-treat unless you temper it way back you will need a grinder to do any work on it. Good luck Kyle
  2. Hey Guys, My wife was a machinist. She then became a Machine shop programer using Bravo. Now she programs CNC punches, CNC lasers & uses MC V9 to program CNC mills. Plus she can still go out on the floor and put 90% of the guys where we work to shame. Be careful what you wish for. More women like her and we might be out of jobs
  3. Dave, Found the post you were talking about. Do i run my program thru the Fanuc post then the offset post or the other way around. Or what?? Thanks
  4. Dave, That would be great if you could find that. It sounds just like what I am looking for. Our company only updated 1 of our 2 license to version 9.0. I use the older version at the machine to do proto type work and stuff. So I'm having how to do stuff on the fly.
  5. You might just make it a DXF they seem to convert well.
  6. Have you checked with the tool supplier or manufacture. that would be my first thought
  7. Hey Guys I need to reverse the order of my work offset on the 2nd tool. I have a large table on my machine so I use 4 vises. On first tool it goes G54, G55, G56, & G57. Next tool it starts back on G54. I would like it to start with the last W/C offset and work it's way back down.I use MC V 8.1.1 . Thanks for all your help.

  9. Hey Guys, Thanks for all the good ideas. Redk up above just told me there is a way to do what I want. But I'm new at MC. I have used a real basic package up until now. So without sounding to stupid could someone please give me a step-by-step method on how to create a custom tool cycle. I need it to come out almost exactly like Redk's but for a Fanuc. Thanks again!
  10. i would realy like to set up a M00 drill cycle. I'm very new at MC. So could someone explain to me how to set up the cycle.
  11. I have found that if I create a point in the center of the hole. Then pick that point as the first point of your contour chain. Then pick the contour. Use lead in /out. On the lead in/out page check the " use entry point " box on entry side. If you need to you can use " use exit point " if you need to go back to center or just arc out of the cut. Hope this helps Kyle
  12. Here is what i need to do. Help ( T1 - 3/8 Pin ) G55 G0 X-.8942 Y.2126 G43 H1 Z2. M00 (Reposition Part using last .375 hole drilled) G0 G28 G91 Z0 M19 G90 N20 M1
  13. I'm using a leadwell post that was made for my company. what I do is put in a .750 drill at zero RPM . Zero as depth of cut. Then when I put in the machine I just change G981 line to M00. Kind of a pain but it works. Help !!! Thanks Kyle
  14. Thanks for all the help. I should have been a little more specific on what i needed. What I need to do is pick up a pin. Go down to .500 above the part then put in a M00 , so I can reposition the part and manually drop the pin in a hole. then continue on with a different tool plane. Hope this makes some kind of since on what I'm trying to do. Thanks
  15. I have to reposition parts and need to know the easiest way to put a program stop ( M00 ) without having to edit it in every time I make a change to the program.
