Tried out a demo version of a competitive product that has an automated Tombstone creation function for Tombstone size (4,6,8 faces) and part origins for each face.
Question: Is this something very difficult to do in a C-Hook and if not, what would be the first step in developing this C-Hook.
I've programmed in Pascal, Fortran, Basic, Mastercam posts, a bit of Visual Basic and stuff like that. How hard is it to jump into C-Hook programming?
For engraving purposes, take a look at the Engrave C-Hook. It uses 45 deg. cutters with the movement required for artwork lettering.
This will be available with the Router product.
Sometimes, the good ol' fashion way can do fancy things. Just generate a "longhand" drill cycle using G0 and G1 moves and change your feed rate whenever and to whatever value you want.
In the post you would have to change the variable "usecandrill : no "
Just my 2%
On the shop floor, what do most of you use to protect your computer hardware from the harsh environnement.
Any one particular model of enclosure being used?
Home made or purchased standard?
Thanks

When working on a post it oftens helps to know exactly what has been programmed in Mastercam and what is held in the Intermediate NC file (NCI).
From then on, it's just a matter of Post Processing the info for formatting purposes.
Said simply: is the post wrong or did I program it wrong in Mastercam!
Billy,

Yikes, on my system, I had the 64Mb Radeon for about 2 weeks. Had to bring down graphics acceleration to 0 and system still had a tendancy to crash.
I wouldn't touch that card if I were you!

First of all, always try receiving a program from the controller to the PC first.
PC's are less fussy than controllers. At the same time you will notice if any special characters are being transmitted.
Try another communication program that will allow better handshaking ... like Cimco Edit supplied with Mastercam.
Try using the DTR/RTS switch. Is your cabling wired for hardware handshaking or are you using XON/XOFF?
Try a % sign at the start of the program.

I would suggest to stay away from the ATI cards. We use an ASUS and a Matrox on our machines with good results.
Do a search in this forum under "graphics card". Lot of info collected.
Does anyone have a good method for transferring Artisan solid and/or surface files from Artisan to Mastercam?
What type of exports are available in Artisan: x_t, SAT, VDA, IGES, STEP ???
Thanks
