  1. AMD's new CPU lineup have a good price to performance ratio and is good to see competition in this area again. As for the performance inside of Mastercam we have received a few emails regarding this and was able to ordered two Ryzen CPU's for testing (R7 1700). I will be doing a couple benchmarks comparing the Ryzen CPU to a few Intel CPUs that I have with me and will post my results up on Mastercam.com forum ("should" hope to have everything completed in the next couple of weeks). The new Threadripper that was released last week should expect similar performance to the Ryzen series as the single core performance is the same but if the toolpaths you are using are multi-threaded it should see an improvement (similar to the I9 equivalent).
  2. BenzB, If you are using Win7 try changing the "Buffer - flipping mode" to "Use Block Transfer" in the NVIDIA 3d settings. https://kb.mastercam.com/KnowledgebaseArticle50453.aspx It should be noted that this setting should only be modified if you are experiencing the theme being changed (this feature isn't supported and is a defect with the NVIDIA drivers for Win7)
  3. "The model is inside out" Haven't seen this one before. Robert, As JParis found the solid face directions are pointing inward causing the solid to be "inside out". A way you can fix this is to convert the solid to surfaces and then convert the surfaces back into a solid.
  4. jdkhunter1, In the part file you are running into the error "tag is invalid or dead" is there any boolean operations that are being used on a Solid? If there is go through each boolean operation by expanding the tree and verify that they have all the solid bodies that you selected (any missing solid bodies in the operation recreate the solid and reference it then try saving). The only other way around this is to use the "Save Solid AsIs" chook located on the main Mastercam download page and this will allow you to save the part. NOTE: This will not fix the error but suppress it. When saving the solid with the Chook open another Mastercam session (leaving the part open on the other) and open the saved part verifying the solid looks okay. If anything is missing you will have to remove the solid history and then save.
  5. Hi Guys, The the version of this release is (16.2.1.61) and the build date is (June 16, 2014) specv, Could you send a screenshot of the 1402 error message to [email protected] with ATTN: Chris and has this error message always appeared when installing through the X7 releases or only when updating to Mu2 Sp1?
