  1. I do appreciate your assistance. You are right I realize I didn't share a lot of information. I haven't posted in the forum that much and I was unaware that one could send a file on the forum. How do you do that? I sent to your email a Z2G file with a simple curve 5-axis that I am testing. Basically, I have not done 5-axis programming since V9 (2006) and am trying to re-acquaint myself with it since we just purchased a VF-4 with a TR-160Y trunnion. I have done a lot of post mods over the years but the one I have is basically the OEM with a few mods not related to 5-axis with the exception of the Y axis trunnion configuration. You will find if you put anything in Z in the Ref/Home, it adds the A0 move on the next line. It does it also with the OEM version- no mods. I tried it without the transform toolpath and just added another op with rotated geometry. (It doesn't do it when you keep all the geometry within the same operation). I looked high and low through the post and cannot find anything that would cause that, but I may have missed it. Could not find a misc real or int that seems to affect it. Thank you for your help.
  2. I haven't yet. I guess I could try, but I haven't known dealers to give up much when it comes to posts so I always try to figure it out on my own or through forum searches.
  3. Well after much consternation, I finally figured it out (sort of). For some reason enabling a retract to a value "Z home position", in Home/Ref Points, also forces a return to "A0" on the next line. This happens on both "Transform Rotate" or when another operation follows that selects rotated geometry. Haven't figured that out in the post yet but will just have to avoid using a safe move that way.
  4. I have done a search and haven't found anything yet. It doesn't seem that any of the mi's address it either.

  6. This is the off-the shelf Haas post and I have a TR160-Y Trunnion. The post outputs what I consider an unnecessary move that resets and repositions the "A" (secondary axis) to zero at null toolchange, when just a "B" axis rotation would suffice to position for the next operation. Is there a switch I am missing or a quick post fix that will prevent this move? Example: X-1.0769 Y-1.1136 Z2.4368 B211.388 A-79.793 F999.99 G94 X-1.1767 Y-1.1189 F50. G0 Z2.4868 Z5. X3.1739 A0. ****Don't need or want this**** B148.612 A-79.793 X-1.1767 Y1.1192 Z3.4368
  7. This is for having only one sequential N# at the beginning of each tool for lathe (for mill I use N# = T#). I have been working on this for awhile and finally came up with a solution that works for me. Maybe I was doing something wrong but I found the mplmaster tseqno set to 1 caused problems w/ output after canned cycles. Anyway I think this is pretty clean: First I created the output format: fmt N 4 nnote #Sequence number beginning of tool only and the user variable: sav_op_id : 0 #Sequential counter for block #'s then the postblock: pnnote if op_id$ = one, sav_op_id = one nnote = sav_op_id nnote else, nnote = sav_op_id nnote then right before 'ptoolcomment' in ltlchg$ and mtlchg$ add the following: pnnote sav_op_id = sav_op_id + one
  8. Yes you can customize your Microsoft Mouse to be application specific. Under Right-mouse options, use 'Keystroke', and assign Alt+O.
  9. I downloaded the trial HTML set-up sheet installer and ran it. I noticed that it did not put the HTML.set in the X2MR2 root directory as the read-me stated it would. I found HTML_Launch in the C-Hooks dir, but when I ran it I got an error: "At least one valid argument is required". Huh?
  10. found this one online: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/Se...p?EdpNo=1699044
  11. Does anyone have an opinion on whether or not the following product will work for my 25 pin Hasp? http://shop3.outpost.com/product/4475676?s...CH:MAIN_RSLT_PG
  12. sure. I will email you. Thanks. John
  13. These are surfaces that have been generated by converting a solid model from SolidEdge. I do not have the solids option in Mill level 3. I tried what you are suggesting, but there is no clear way that I can see to find the exact center of the NURBs. I tried creating a 3D line from the endpoint and midpoint of the top and bottom splines; and then creating a line throught the midpoint of those lines. But it is apparent that this new line is slightly off of the center of the hole. Is there another way to create a line throught the exact center of the cylinder surface?
  14. In 5-axis drilling, the 3D geometry converted from SolidEdge has holes through tapered surfaces that are represented only by nurbs and surfaces(no arcs). Is there any way to select these holes for drilling without creating additional geometry?
