  1. Question: When you do this will it also improve the finish in the actual machining process.
  2. I am working on it. Mike just sent me a file and I am looking it over. Fred
  3. Tony: This does not make much sense to me? Sorry I am a newbie at this. Fred
  4. Michael : check your email . I sent you a screen shot of it.
  5. I'm trying to use the gap control , but it does not seem to work like I want? The problem is the these counter bores are on the edge of the the part where there is a radius on this edge. I am getting too many "rapid retracts" because of the interruption. That's why I need to fill these counter bore with a surface so when I go to machine this edge the transition is smooth.
  6. I think it would be best for me to try to put a screen shot of this counter bore on this post. So I can demonstrate this. But I cant seem to figure out how this is done.
  7. Martling : I tried the surface->fill hole. But that only seems to work in areas where the surface is one complete surface. Like I said these there are several surface around the counter bore. And fill hole with surface does not apply for this. Thanks anyways
  8. Hello : I need to fill or cover a counter bore with a surface. The surface that surrounds the counter bore is broken up into several surfaces. Questions : 1)How do I go about filling this with a surface ? 2)And which of the surface commands should I use? 3)I am also trying to import this file or take a snapshot of this counter bore to put it in this post. I tried using the "Alt Print Screen " command , But I can't figure out how to do this. Can anyone please help ???
  9. Thad : Hardmill told me the same. But next time I will try these suggestion. Thanks for the advice.

  14. Hi : I have a part that has a large pocket. I ran a Surface rough Pocket on to remove most of the material and I left .100 of stock. Now I just want to go back and remove the remaining stock (.100 ) and achieve a good finish. Does anybody have a good suggestion as to what kind of tool path I should use for this ? I am willing to email this file to anyone to better help me out. I really don't know what I am doing wrong and I would need some guidance with this. All help would greatly be appreciated. Thanks
  15. Hello: I cannot seem to figure out what I am doing wrong ??? When selecting a drive it picks the whole part. Which is ok . But then when I go to select the check surfaces it selects again all the drive surfaces. And I can't seem to select what I want ? Is there something that I need to "turn off" or "turn on" . Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
  16. John : I already have downloded the very last driver. The computer is brand new I bought in December of 2007 and it is a Dell.
  17. John: It's not a "Vista". It is a Windows XP home edition. And I am quite sure I already have DirectX 10 on it.
  18. Hello Everyone: I am trying to use Mastercam X demo version. To teach myself. But I have some issues in which I would really appreciate any advise. The problem is that when I open any of the sample files. I hold down the roller on the mouse in order to to orientate the part the drawing begins to jitter and it walks out of the view. I am pretty sure that it is my NVIDIA card. Is there any way I can tweak the settings ? If so which ones should I adjust. Or should I just get a different model card.java script:void(0) Curse
  19. Usually I am here at 6am everyday. Because I like to work a minimum of 8 hrs.. And leave early to enjoy my afternoons at home. I guess the rest of the guys here just pace them selfs different.
  20. IT department also has a late schedule too. I guess this is part of the problem of working in California. The atmosphere is very relaxed here. Plus we are an R&D company. No production here at all (we send it all out). Fred
  21. I guess I'm screwed the nethasp is in the server room (which I have no access to ). Then I guess we will all have to learn to log out of MC when we are done using it.
  22. I can't ! It's in the Engineer office, its on and there are other engineers around that would see me.
  23. Hello everyone : Here at work we have just recently purchased Mastercam level 3 with Design,Lathe,Mill. We have a nethasp. This is the first time that I have used this type of hasp. Apparently one of the engineers here (wannabe machinist ) Has checked out all licenses. During my absence yesterday. And now he is not around (has a late schedule) . I want to use MC but I get an error message saying the following : "Error checking out Mill level 3 al available licenses in use" Anyways is there a way of getting around this issue ?
  24. I have just emailed the dealer with my request. So I will sit tight and wait on it . Thanks
