  1. No caffeine for me, please!! BTW, I can think of 3 improvements to 'dynamic rotation' that would help: 1. Automaticly turn off auto-curser's arc center for dynamic rotation. (arc center causes model to jump, sometimes completely off screen) 2. Have auto-curser pick a point on a surface (maybe midpoint of an isoparm?) for dynamic rotation axes. (now I have to create-point-dynamic on surface first before dynamic rotation) 3. Allow mouse pointer to move infinitely when in dynamic rotation, not stop at edge of screen. These changes would make this tool much more productive !! Thanks, BerTau
  2. _________________ "V8.0 has the 'hide more' or 'unhide some'. Try 'Alt+' and 'Alt-' after using 'AltE'." ______________ Thanks, I had missed that. I will use it a lot! BerTau
  3. I would like to see a "dynamic zoom" on the mouse wheel. And ideally the zoom center would be on the curser location. Maybe clicking on the mouse wheel could "pan". What do you think?? Also, I think we need a "hide" (alt-E) toggle: 'select entities to keep on screen' or 'select entities to hide' Another improvement would allow "hide additional entities' and 'select entities to unhide' These would really help me out a lot. Thanks for posting this topic. BerTau
  4. Great ! I'm glad you found the prob. BerTau
  5. Hi David, I looked at my Fanuc based post that I modified for Ver 7 and copied the code that turns off the coolant. Maybe this will help. ptoolend_t #End of tool path, toolchange ..... ..... pbld, n, scoolant, e pbld, n, sccomp, "M5", e ..... I can't get the code to look like it does in the post, but look for "ptoolend_t" BerTau [This message has been edited by BerTau (edited 03-27-2001).]
  6. Hi DH, Have you checked out the pocket entry features - Helix, Ramp, and Follow Contour? You can omit the drilling operation completely by using one of them. The 'Follow Contour' entry is really clever. (I havent drilled a start hole for a pocket toolpath since Ver 5). BerTau
  7. Hi Mike, I think the incremental angle determines the accuracy of the resulting spline. However, I created the same spline at 10 deg and 1 deg increments and could not tell the difference between them. I then tried 30 deg inc and did notice that it was not as circular. So 5 deg seems to be a reasonable setting (it's also the default) BerTau
  8. Mike, I think I did what you want with the C-Hook Thelix. Rad 1.5 Start ang 0 inc ang 5 revs .25 pitch 1.5 (.375*4) taper 0 center 0,0 Now rotate 3 times and create vertical lines at endpoints. Is that what you need? BerTau
  9. lou, Are you trying to post to A: or D: drives? If so, check the thread dated 3/17 about 'multiple hard drives' http://www.emastercam.com/ubb/Forum1/HTML/000746.html I still haven't solved that problem, will try to ask Mastercam about it at Westec next week. BerTau
  10. Josh, go back a few days to 3/17 and look at Mill Man's post. Absolutely, get the upgrade !!!! http://www.emastercam.com/ubb/Forum1/HTML/000748.html BerTau
  11. Hello, I use a Centurian I (Miltronics Partner mill) and it uses X Y I J for arcs, no R. I believe Rekd is using a Centurian 6 and it uses X Y I J, no R. I suspect your Cent 4 should use the same. I think you should check with your dealer or Miltronics support for more info. I used the Mastercam Centurian 5 post successfully on the Cent I so it should work on Cent 4. Good luck ! BerTau
  12. Hello, I just ran into the same problem today. I set the NC file path to A: (Just finished installing Ver 8.1) and it did exactly what you say. Worked fine in Ver 8.0. Changed path back to C: and it works fine. It does work from NC Utilities/ Post Process to the A: drive. Hmmmmmmmmmm BerTau
  13. I think you will be happy with your Centroid control. The Mastercam that comes with it is ver 3.21, which is very good - but old(circa 1990, no surfaces). Rather than spending a lot of time learning 3.21, I believe you would be better off visiting your Mastercam dealer and look into getting ver 8. You might as well learn the current technology. Most designers today will send surface or solid models to be machined, and you can't read them with 3.21. Good luck. BerTau
  14. Try 'Keeping' the original surf when you extend, then you can always come back to where you were before extending. The default is to 'delete' the original. BerTau
