    Gizmo, I am part of 5th Axis Inc. out of San Diego.

    Your only other option outside of a chuck, would be to cut a dovetail in your stock then clamp it in a self centering vise. This has served us very well, and the vise can still be used for other applications.

    The piece looks great. What kind of work holding were you using?

    It looks like it should hold up okay, I would have gone with some small self centering vises and risers. More for repeatability purposes than anything.
