  1. AAARRRGGHH How can i draw geometry from co-ordinates ? I can't find any way other than to click on the work space then alter the geometry late from the analyse entity option? can find any of the x/y/z number box's ?
  2. hey guys just been working through a program i would like to use opti rough to rough this part while avoiding my fixtures. this i have done ok but i would like to be able to tell it about the big air regions to try save a bit of time any of you clever cogs got any ideas ? file included Cheers in advance PR03 MCNC-1002.mcx-9
  3. hey man cant see alot from your pic , can you upload a. mcx file to play with ?
  4. Thanks guys!.{Jay i am on the other sid of the world so i was asleep, thats why i said thanks in advance } Scott you the man. Don't know why i didn't work that out yesterday ? buy anyhow sorted now. what was that that you did with the extrusions i made ? and was there and advantage to doing that ?
  5. hey guys been trying for a while to figure this one out. I want to rough a triangular shape off a part which is simple enough but i would like to be able to link the operation to the stock so i can do away with air cutting. thought of many ways I can bullxxxx it or do it in multiple operations to make it more efficient but i figure if mastercam is clever as i think it is there must be a way. I have attached a copy of the file and a screen shot as well Cheers in advance guys. PR01 TRACK SAMPLE.mcx-8
  6. I have done a lot of Ti work around 50m/min ,05 .1 mm/tip with carbide. Cham drills work great otherwise regular carbide drills also work mint as
  7. Well roll die worked an absolute charm followed geometry to within a couple hundreds of a mm stokec. Thanks for the help guys much appreciation :-)

  9. I did provide it to our dealer they came back with a swarf tool path much the same as I have done. I may try the roll die chook dose that come with master cam x7 ? Or is that a downloadable extra ?
  10. This is all I can at the moment sorry can you see the over/undercut ? One is award with picked surfaces one is swarf with top and bottom rails and one is an in rolled pocket
  11. So is roll die for calculating the tool path from the side of the tool as apposed to the centre line ? What geometry for you need for it ?
  12. ok, it is a spring so no rollers but the shape is important to handle the stress's involved with an unrolled contour i can get it 90% right but i need the "y" to move to get the right wall geometry, seems strange that i would be picking 5 axis tool path operations in a 4 axis machine ?. i am using a 3 axis hartford vmc with a 4th axis. are chooks part of feature cam or do i have to download them >?
  13. cool, do i unroll the geometry and then just that as the driving edges? also do i find that in the multi axis tool path section ?
  14. Hey guys been working on a project with a dog bone shape rolled round a cylinder. I have tried a swarf 5 axis I have tried in rolling the geometry and using axis sub. Neither will cut the wall to the right geometry. I have done the job on feature cam before as a "wrapped" pocket the key there was to tell feature can to calculate the pocket from the side of the tool as opposed to the center of the tool. Is there this option in master cam ?
