  1. I participated in Colin's last Webinar and was quite impressed and I will Certainly be looking for and signing up for Colins 5X post class. In the meantime if the is any literature available with a bit more description of the post functions I would most certainly appreciate it. I can get the axis working and edit the drill cycles but not quite sure about the descriptions for shifting for the rotary axis not intersecting perfectly. I Assume I can just position the part in mastercam the amount the axis are off and not have to worry about it. Thanks Dave
  2. Colin I tried contacting my reseller for the document "Advanced Post Training" and received a reply that they don't have such a document but sent a file called "Post Text - Misc Values.ppt" I'm looking for some detailed information about the use of the Generic Fanuc 5X post specifically the switches and misc integers and reals. Something with a little more explanation then what is in the post itself. Thanks Dave
  3. on machines that I've ran they have to be manually disabled.
  4. This is a copy of the ptap$ in a fadal post that outputs the pitch in the feed. of course you only need the else portion of the formula. ptap$ #Canned Tap Cycle - G84/G74 pdrlcommonb if tap_format = 2, [ feed = (1 / n_tap_thds$) * speed pcan1, pbld, n$, *sgdrill, *sgdrlref, pfxout, pfyout, pfzout, pcout, prdrlout, *feed, dwell$, strcantext, e$ ] else, [ feed = speed thread_lead = 1 / n_tap_thds$ pcan1, pbld, n$, *sgdrill, *sgdrlref, pfxout, pfyout, pfzout, pcout, prdrlout, *feed, *thread_lead, dwell$, strcantext, e$ ] pcom_movea
  5. Yes that is the idea, So all you need is to figure out how to output the thread pitch right.
  6. do you want a G94 @ all the toolchanges. and a G95 on the tap cycle line.
  7. If this is a manual entry M00 can't you type 3 lines into the manual entry. M9 M0 M8
