  1. Thanks, but the only CDS Lite program I can find is for backing up files. What is BTR function and how does it work? I could call Anilam but they are very slow with response time. Thanks for your help.
  2. Having a problem running long programs on an Anilam 6000I control. Have mill hooked up along with a robot. If we want to run all weekend it will lose itself. Seems there is not enough ram. Not windows based software. Is made by Heidinhein. Was wondering if anybody else had similar problem and if so what you did to help solve the problem. Any help would be appreciated.

  4. Am bringing in a file with a lot of arcs. In these arcs I have to draw in some center points. My problem is that when I bring in the file the arcs always come in as nurbs splines. Is there a way to convert these back to arcs, or is there a way to put center points on splines? Any help will be appreciated.
  5. No spaces, just a number or a number followed by a letter if there are more than one program. 12345 or 12345b
  6. Hello, Did a search on setup sheet problems and found nothing on this. Whenever I try to make a setup sheet it starts to process and then comes up with: C:mcamxmillnc_____.doc not found this path does not exist or is not a directory The place _____ always comes up with my program name. Not sure how to change the path. I looked at the .set file and did not see anything like this.
  7. Thanks, I did not even think about using MC's editor. But thats the kind of week I am going through.
  8. If I want to customize a setup sheet, how do I open an .set file to tweak it? Do you have to have specific software to open them?
  9. Nope, I have to control-alt-delete, then end task back to desktop. When I start over, the same thing happens. Not sure what I did or what button I pushed. Things have been going good with McamX untill this.
  10. All of a sudden when I try to create line endpoint I receive a message (Mcore 6-drill parameter #2) I can not get out of this because it tells me I have not ended the task. I am not making a drill program or any other kind of program, just design. Anyone have any ideas about this?
  11. When converting files in MCamX it wants to automatically switch back and forth from inch mode to metric mode. I would like everything to convert in English. My config file is set to english as default. Is there something else to set besides this? It drives me crazy having to scale everything. This did not happen in MCam9, you physically had to switch from metric to english.
  12. just go to view, viewports, pick what you want
  13. OK, got it. Thank You Very Much.
  14. I know this has been hit on before but I did a search and could not find the answer. In the operations manager I imported an old program and then added two tools and two more operations. But when I post out it only wants to post the new operations. How do I make all operations active again? Sorry

    Memory

OK, I am working with a Pentium 4 CPU at 3.20 GHZ with 2.0 GB of ram. Running Windows XP professional and using an NVIDIA GeForce 6800 GS video card. Running MCamX MR1, Mill Level 3, with Mold Plus. Did not have any problems with any other files so I am assuming the file was just huge. Statistics showed it had 757,765 lines in file, so I guess it bogged something down.

    Memory

While trying to print I come up to the print page screen, it will say "out of memory" and the preview pane is empty. Then the screen will turn white and I cannot change it back. I have to close out Mcam X and re-open. Is there someplace to increase memory for printing in McamX? This was a pretty big file, 8 megs. My printer-plotter is new, (HP Designjet 30N) The thing that bothers me is I can go back to Mcam 9.1 and print it no problem. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Yes I have the latest version. Still the same results. I guess I will hit up my IT guy to see what he thinks.

    Misc

I think I do have the X+ setup sheet. But mine does not say X+ just X setup. Is there a new version? When I try to output in Excell all that happens is my screen will blink but nothing comes up. Where is the setup folder? I go to McamX, chooks, Xsetup sheets, but there is no setup folder.
  19. Mcam X is supposed to be up to 80% faster at processing then Mcam 9. I do not see it, does anybody else? Not complaining, just curious. When using X setup sheets did anybody ever find out how to tweak the output or how to use the Excell sheets? I was wondering how to add comments to my sheet. I see a comment line but it will not let me type in anything in HTML format. Also to add your logo, in what folder do you put your .gif picture? Also when shading can you make one color solid and another color translucent?
  20. Hello, In Mcam 9 you could create a line tangent to an angle. How do you do this in Mcam X? Any help would be appreciated.
  21. Thanks, will try it from preview page. I am using both 9.1 and X That does not seem to matter when printing.
  22. When I try to hardcopy on a 81/2 x 11 it seems to print about 3/4 of the print and that is it. Checked my printer settings and they are fine. Printer works with everything else fine, it just seems to be Mcam printing. If I try plot it will work but is always toward the corner of the page. Is there print settings somewhere in Mcam? Also it does not matter if I am in V9.1 or X.
