  1. I'm the noob here at work and my "partner" thought I was just talking crazy until this started happening to him as well
  2. I tell MCX/my computer "Ok, you process that stuff, and I'll be back in 5. If you haven't finished thinking by then, I'm restarting you"
  3. ^ I agree with the customizations. I get on my partners machine and it feels like day 1 all over again.
  4. My entire programs are usually ¼-½ that size, haha. I save religously (alt-f-s) so I only give it as long as it takes me to go grab a cup of coffee and smoke a cig.
  5. Inconel is pretty thermally stable, isn't it? Are they that tight of tolerance that heat treating is required prior to machining? At the old job shop I was at, we made these Stainless steel parts about 2"x2" that were basically a hog out, that had some small (.0781) intersecting bores. The owner used to get the cut stock blocks heat treated prior to machining, just because that's the way they had always done it. I had a hunch one day and ran an untreated part and oversized one of the holes to ID it, then sent it in with the next batch of stock to be heat treated. Owner got pissed when he found out that I did that, but after we inspected my part, we started heat treating post maching ops. ?
  6. That's an awesome idea Kirk, I'll have to look into in. The Production guys would love me

    Ramp Tabs

^ Our old Thermwood C53 Router really does not like ramped tabs, or tabs that are on arcs. It usually stuffs the cutter deep into the table and dwells, or it goes about .250" into the table and then rapids to X0Y0. The Software and control on those are ancient though. That sounds exactly like what ours do MotorCity, it occurs on the ramp down.
