  1. Thanks to everyone, I got it to work. Then on my drive home, had an epiphany..... If you run out of cutter comp, tell mc the tool is a smaller diameter....Doh
  2. The mc file??? I got the taper issue worked out. had to decrease the size of my tool, but cant add enough cutter comp to produce the thread
  3. my taper angle is set to 1.7899....still no luck
  4. I have a kennametal inserted thread mill. I'm trying to create a 1"-11.5 npt thread. Now it seems to want to work backwards...i.e. bigger at the bottom of the id and shrinking towards the top.... I've tried changing the taper angle to a negative to no avail.... Somebody save me... LOL

  6. I can create my thread milling tool, but upon posting the program, it only does one revolution. Is this normal? can I get more than one step?

  9. thats what I had in the book too, couldn't get it to work on one of the lathes, but it seems to on the other, Just need to figure out how to make it do what i want now.
  10. I have a Fanuc O-i control on a Femco lathe. Is there a parameter to change to use the g34 code? Has anyone used this and can give me an idea where to start? I need to do a 1 inch per thread to a 1.75 inch per thread over 20". 15 turns Cant find the info on the net, so I thought I'd hit up the real geniuses here! Thanx Jer
  11. I draw in MC exclusively. I don't know how to use solidworks, except to translate it to a format I can pull into MC. When I do use solidworks, I find that alt f1 doesnt work!!! Jer

  15. Maybe I should get 90deg square inserts? Cant seem to configure it any other way
  16. I have one,.I just cant seem to get the slot configuration I want. I want 90 deg top and bottom
  17. Has anyone used one of these? Indexable inserted slotting tool. I got one and it has parallelogram inserts. I can either have a parallel slot with angled sides, or a perp side, with an angled slot. I need to set up the insert so I get both parallel and perpendicular. The tool is made by Michigan Drill Corp. I'm open to any suggestions. thanx in adv. Jer

  19. Its a moot point, he doesn't have the spindle orient function add on. If he did, it would be M19 P45. for 45 deg. angle, You can also use R for up to 4 decimal places. He just needed to put a small hole in the front of the part, on the face. Thanx for the replies. Jer
