Then on my drive home, had an epiphany.....
If you run out of cutter comp, tell mc the tool is a smaller diameter....Doh
I have a kennametal inserted thread mill. I'm trying to create a 1"-11.5 npt thread. Now it seems to want to work backwards...i.e. bigger at the bottom of the id and shrinking towards the top.... I've tried changing the taper angle to a negative to no avail....
Somebody save me... LOL
thats what I had in the book too, couldn't get it to work on one of the lathes, but it seems to on the other,
Just need to figure out how to make it do what i want now.
I have a Fanuc O-i control on a Femco lathe.
Is there a parameter to change to use the g34 code? Has anyone used this and can give me an idea where to start?
I need to do a 1 inch per thread to a 1.75 inch per thread over 20". 15 turns

I draw in MC exclusively. I don't know how to use solidworks, except to translate it to a format I can pull into MC.
When I do use solidworks, I find that alt f1 doesnt work!!!
