  1. Since we are talking about Backplot and Help file, here is an other good tip in the MC Help file on Backplot:

    *****

    Notes:

You can step quickly through the backplot by holding down both mouse buttons at the same time while choosing Step.

    *****

"Alt + H" is my teacher.

  2. Program restart function in Cimco Edit has been requested. The way to do it now is use the good old "Copy" & "Paste".

FYI, Cimco DNC-Max allows you to restart program from "Line Number", "Block Number" or "Tool Change". And it works in both Manually and Remotely.

  3. Copied a little info on that post block for you (in case you don't have it):

"ppostparsetool: during look ahead for tool change info"

    "ppostparsetool:

This postline is similar to 'ppostparse'(see below) except that it is executed immediately after each line is parsed during a look ahead for tool change information."

    "ppostparse:

This postline is executed immediately after the nc line is parsed. When used with 'ppreparse', as described above, this postline can be used to check if a variable's value has changed and restore the original value if it has not. Like 'ppreparse', it is not advisable to have any output on this line since many lines are read and parsed during a look ahead."

  4. 1. Try the HTML setup sheet from eMastercam.com and see if you like it (however, this one does not show the part).

    2. Predator Virtual CNC's HTML setup sheet can do the things that you want but you have to run you NC codes through Virtual CNC to get it (they have a chook for Mastercam as well).

  5. May I add:

When you want to differentiate between operations (such as between Milling and Drilling), an easy way to do is to use variable "opcode".

In Mill, opcode 3 is for drilling operation. So in your case you can do something like this:

    if opcode = 3, ......

    else,......

    Ooops, misspelled a word : )

  7. Cimco Edit comes with two editions: Standard and Professional.

Only Professional edition has backplot function. Both Standard edition and the OEM version that comes with Mastercam can be upgrade to Professional version.

30 days demo (fully working) Professional edition can be downloaded from http://www.cimco-software.com / or http://www.inhousesolutions.com/cimco/ or http://www.cimco-integration.com/
