Hi Jim,
We have the same problem on customer's computer. It doesn't happen when I plug in my dealer HASP but we do get the error when using customer's HASP.
Hope the MR will fix this error.
In Canada, both metric & imperial systems are commonly used. Why worry about translate "color" to "colour" when we have "KM" signs on the road but talk about "square footage" for shop size?
I'm not saying, I'm just saying, you know what I'm saying?
I've set my defaults to "Best".
Never the less, the vertical "Surface Quality" slider works for me. I just tried all three options, and they all "stick" even after restart X4.
PFE32 editor and many other text editors (include CIMCO Edit) comes in Mastercam installation: Settings --> Configuration --> Start / Exit -- > Editor.
You would use Mastercam interface (under Settings) to edit .control & .mmd files and use one of the text editors to edit the pst file.
If you have a .pst and .psb file, you can only edit the .pst file.
It's a good idea to make backups before editing.
The issue that you are having is that Z value needs to be I value but only for drilling cycles. Here is one way of doing it:
1. Define address I:
stri "I"
2. Assign zabs/zinc from "Z" to "I" in pdrlcommonb:
quote:
result = nwadrs(stri,zabs)
result = nwadrs(stri,zinc)
Now, your pfzout in drill cycles would output Z values as I.
Hope this helps,
Ying.
Just added a bitmap (very simple one), tooltip & a .ft file for DrillPt.dll c-hook for a customer so that it can be added to X2MR2 toolbar. Here it is in case you would like to use it as well:
ftp://mastercam:[email protected]/Ma...illpt_x2mr2.zip
Ok, I've copied the files to a temp ftp folder, you can get them from here:
ftp://ftp.inhousesolutions.com/pub/Master...IE_geometry.zip
ftp://ftp.inhousesolutions.com/pub/Master...TOOLPATH_X2.zip
If you have v9 installed, I'd use CIMCO Edit for DNC.
Eric,
Are you still having problem with this? I'll call you today and let's get to the bottom of it.
Eric,
In Mastercam Editor, under "Tools" --> "Options" --> "Communications", select the correct xml file as the "Default Machine".
Then, click on "Communications" on the main menu --> "Configure" and change the bauderate on the "Port" page.
By the way, after you unchecked "FIFO" buffer, be sure to restart the PC.
Have a great holiday,
Ying.
All depends on how your shop is setup. If you already have network connections at each machine, then Option 2 is good so you don't have to run too many cables. Otherwise, go with Option 1.
DNC-Max is a good choice.
Uncheck the "Use FIFO buffers" in the COM port advanced settings.
Leave "FIFO buffer on" sometimes works fine, more times will not, especially if you do drip feeding. It's a good thing to turn it off. I've hooked up hundreds of machines via RS-232. One of the first thing I do at a installation is to turn off "FIFO buffers" on all COM ports.
I prefer to use CIMCO Edit or DNC-Max to do RS-232 transfers. You can download a demo version from their web site if you are interested (http://www.cimco-software.com).
Gota run, stones are coming my way...
We've setup/used many different DNC software over the years, DNC-Max is the one I would recommand.
Take a look at our html setup sheet, it will give you very good job setup info at a very low price:
http://www.emastercam.com/tools/html/
The new html setup sheet supports barcode output so you can use it with bar code system and DNC-Max to do remote request without the chance of typing errors.
HAAS machines are very easy to setup:
1. Set the HAAS controller to 19200, Even, 7, 1, Software Handshake (Xon/Xoff) or DC code if you want to use "wait for Xon" function.
2. Set CIMCO Edit or DNC-Max to 19200, Even, 7, 1, Software Handshake (Xon/Xoff). (Turn on "wait for Xon" if you like).
You might already know, if "wait for Xon" is turned on, you have to send the file from the software side first then hit "read" or "cycle start (for DNC)" from CNC side.
3. Turn off the COM port FIFO buffer and restart the PC then you should be good to go.
Give your local CIMCO dealer a call if you need more details.
Good luck!
