  1. Was only an hour and 15 minutes, all is well Thanks
  2. Anyone have one of these? Looking for tips on who to call for schematics, loading parameters. I bought a basket case that had been sitting for a while. Found 4 dead batteries, one in the controller and 3 in drives in the back. I have the parameters for the controller on file but I heard there is some sort of interface module that looks like a laptop card? All batteries are replaced, it is being painted which I know makes it run better It has power but until I have wiring diagrams for the valves on the hydraulic pump I'm afraid to fire it up. 3. And there it is, in the menu I was in right in front of my face. Thank you!
  4. Funny I can manage to cut impellers in X6 but can't engrave. I used to be able to split drafting so I could engrave it, can't find the option. Tried simplify, What's the trick guys? Thx- Jim
  5. I will have to try the ones everyone has listed, I have tried the OSG blizzard on a suggestion from this forum and it is all I will use on aluminium now. Don't have a machine that can push it to it's limits so far. I do know that niagra's are cheap, BUT.... well here's the story as short as I can be. We buy them, 2 flute 3/4" for a certain aluminium job we frequent. It does about 20 parts, full depth 1" then starts giving a bad finish, so we switch them out, not a big deal since we make money. I sent a few out to regrind through fastenal, they came back .735. Something they did made a HUGE difference because we are on our 3rd or 4th run of 50 of these parts on one end mill and it cuts like new! Moral of the story... might be the grind more than the material or manufacturer.
  6. Wow I've never tossed an indicator, probe or anything else. I did fling a 20LB aluminum compressor cover out of the mazak spindle, was trying a new post and it didn't cap the spindle at 750 like the old one did. Tried to go 3000, probably made it to 11~12 before it ejected. Luckily no employees were harmed during this test.
  7. Most of the old javascript routines will work the same on 10 as they did in 9, but the way it identifies itself... well some web routines that identify browsers then hand out code depending on what they detect don't see IE10 as being IE at all and throw it into a general category omitting routines it would understand. The text editors on bulletin boards like this one are a good example. But that isn't what the thread is about. I dislike windows in general but if MC will run on 8 then I will use it the minute it is officially released outside of OEM. Sick of being behind everyone, spent almost 10 years in that rut don't want to go back.
  8. Due the end of this month, has anyone tried X6 on it yet? I tested 8 in the spring, reminded me of a big smart phone. I was not able to crash it. IE10 will be a problem though.
  9. Harvey is awesome, I buy so much crap from them they sent me a t-shirt. By that logic CNC software should send me a car......

    x6

If you are running 5 with maint, you should have already upgraded to 6. Now when 7 comes out if you are using XP it will not work but X6 upgrade is a no brainer.
  11. Every magnet I have seen is more like rock or carbide than steel. If the first suggestions fail try diamond. Start with Amorphous Diamond, a cheaper solution if you only have a couple to do. Plenty of end mills on the market with this coating, if all else fails hold it in a vise and grind it with a diamond wheel.
