  1. Jay I've known you for years and have an incredible amount of respect. No way would I ever get near your Jock Strap. Line drawn, just say'in. I will miss Drag myself but then again I still miss "modify" too which went away a while ago.
  2. I am a part mover only. I have never in my career adjusted WCS. One shop where we had 4 large gantry mills I drew the table and programmed everything from machine home. G54 stayed X0 Y0. and we did run multiple parts on the tables. Sent the probe around, drag and rotate the part picture till it fit in the rectangle. I guess I'm just simple like that, easier to put parts in a box than to put a box over the part.
  3. Every time I RDP into my work computer it totally crashes X8. Every time, no exceptions. Program shows on task bar, nothing on screen even after the session and logging in to the actual PC.
  4. Arrrgh I can relate big time. Try making a compressor wheel on a Fadal. I have all gray hairs now.
  5. So far it has been good but I did dump it once during a RDP session and had to close it with the task manager this morning when I got in. How do I turn off that customer feedback thing just in case that was the problem?
  6. Would it still retract pocket to pocket? Paranoia. don't need it with 180. Handy too if you drilled a hole to enter at just the hole regardless of where the hole is in the pocket.
  7. I never use angles on mill, always radius. Usually 50% of tool and between 30/90 deg. on the amount. I use 180 deg a lot also on ID's so the tool doesn't retract on depth cuts.
  8. Hate was the point obviously. Hey I run Mastercam! Been recently impressed by the Hurco's, meeting with them at IMTS. They even invited me to indy to make a wheel on their floor model. Cool guys.
  9. I've been using YG1 insert drills lately, tried both carbide and HSS inserts been having very good luck. I get them through Fastenal believe it or not.
  10. Aluminum.. OSG blizzard. Try it. Afreakingmazing. I roughed out 40 of the wheels in my avatar with one. It's still in the machine ready for the next batch.
  11. Post dialog still pops up on main monitor
  12. COOL! The drag the icon to the monitor trick worked this is the simplest thing I have ever seen freakin closed genius dj
  13. Ditto, it's what I've been doing for over 20 years. For the mathematically challenged pitch is 1 divided by the threads per inch on english.
  14. Cimco here too. A real old version.
  15. On my screwy 5 it has to be positive and negative because going from 15 degrees to 14 degrees will send it around 359. When I figured out what I needed Fastech sent the post to inhouse sent it to fastech and sent it to me and eventually problem solved. My vote is post.
  16. I will never miss another one as long as I still can use enough of my body to power even a wheelchair. It is the single most intriguing event life has ever presented me.
  17. Freakin hilarious! Every time I see this error I feel like upgrading to a lawnboy.
  18. I shut MC down and re open before starting a new file. If I don't, no matter which machine I choose it selects "Mill Default". Opening it fresh I can select any machine and it works. I always set my screen background to black and my base geo color to green. In the newer versions I turn off that little dot that appears in every arc center. Which one of you dreamed that up? I never never never hit the end key. Which one of you thought that up? "Wow man, let's come up with a hot key that spins the screen uncontrollably and illogically"
  19. Hilarious, I was cutting my lawn yesterday and was thinking I was running V9 a pocket toolpath with about 80% stepover. Then I read this thread. I was having a problem with chip ejection, sometimes the cutter would get loaded up and throw the machine into emergency. Back the cutter off, start it back up and resumed the program. I did lower the feed rate and gave it a M00 occasionally so I could brush the chips out of the way. My next door neighbor cuts at 45 degrees. Silly I don't see the advantage.
  20. +1, I work at one of those shops without verification. First runs on new programs we call "white knuckling" because of the tension on your finger at the red button. I would pay for it.
  21. Sounds a little fast for H13, what diameter is the hole?
  22. Is that you cage surfing in the second pic?
  23. Thanks, I'm sure it could be done somehow but the amount of complication and effort involved surrounding this particular machine has pretty much made up my mind that I need to pursue a career elsewhere. I believe the last rabbit has been pulled from my hat, and unless the coolant gets a thick enough film on top I can't walk on water either.
