I guess no forum is safe...

We had the master cam guy write it into the post so it will come on on any path that is not a drilling cycle.
The matsuuras, we have the parameter set to come on automatically. Their IPC doesn't work unless the fanuc one is on

Have you tried it above?
This program snippet would run in both our Robos by just removing the preselect toolcall adjacent to the M8. This program will run on the controls I listed above (the 0i range).
I'm sure it wouldn't run in the Robos with the G49 before the G05.1Q0 and had to be exactly where it is. This was trial and error etc and back about 6 years now, and the Robos were parted out 3 years ago but I'm sure I'm right in saying the format is this way because it had to be this way.
At my old place we stuck the 49 above the g28zo and it worked fine. Yes prestage would alarm out.
The 5.1q0 was always out after the last retract z before the g49.
I have also gotten alarms not using g49 before the g5.1 q1
Because your using g49 to home z in the robodrill is probably why you don't need it before turning it on

I would like to save it into Camplete

Not on a Robodrill with a 31iA5.
By memory it wouldn't toolchange without the G49 and it had to go where it is.
I then modded the post to standardise and this runs purfik on a 0iMC, 0iMD and 0iMF control
Yes on the robodrill you would need it above and then before you zero return g49 g53 z0 is what we use

Thanks. Don't have access to machine right now, but I do have the programming manual and there is nothing in it at all about G5 or G8. Not as a standard or option. I would think if there was any ability there at all, it would have made it in the book?
Or is there any possibility there are some preset parameters that the MTB might have edited to make this more of an automatic function? Sort of like the Haas HSM, you don't need to do anything to the code, the control just looks at it and knows what to do.
If the machine has it parameter 1604 bit 0 set to 1 will turn it on automatically.
On some machines you may need to shut it off for digit tapping.

16 was very capable. If you power the thing up and enter G05.1Q1 in MDI, and it doesn't alarm, you have simple contour control. This will be at least 40 block lookahead and will do what you want providing you're prismatic style machining - ie contours with G2/G3. If you output G1's for arcs, you'll potentially choke it.
This is the prog format you need

I was told by a co-worker(Service 4 Automation co-owner and tech guru Steve Biehl) not to mess with the number, especially shortening it.....the thing being that it is used in the calculation and and changing it "could" affect toolpath generation....
I never did mess with it too much and left it alone...
My thinking was, "if it can affect a path, why even allow access to it then?"
When he showed us some 5 axis stuff he said that shortening it would make a less precise calculation, but it would make the screen cleaner during backplot.
I never mess with it

You may need a software upgrade worst case.
We have a feeler with an 18i I think, and it is terrible at high speeds.
The next one was a lot better as far as blends and not rounding off corners and machining fast and was an 18 I also.
The guy tried to tweak the parameters but said a software upgrade was needed.

After parameter 1320 there are max feed rate values for handle rapid jog, etc. Scroll after and they will show up.
Parameter 1604 bit 0 set to one will set the g5.1 on automatically during feed.
Otherwise use g5.1 q1 to turn on
G5.1q0 is off
Also g8p1 is a block look ahead also
Fanuc can add the aicc 1 or 2 if you pay them if you don't have the option.

I always Dynamic face the stuff, even delrin

I had the same problem of staining and we machine cast iron and many other materials with this machine. When I start aluminium job I will top out the coolant tank with high concentrate coolant and it has solved my problem for now.
Yea, cast iron will make a coolant tank nasty.
We had a long run of invar on our MX 520 which uses way grease and the coolant became vile. Had to do a full cleanout

You may want to verify any programs with the g10 offset.
If it slipped your zero may have changed.
In extreme cases the machine won't home out and a grid shift is required. Some machines have a coupling to absorb shock in the event of collision that slips

I misread i thought you said carbon fiber.
Does it have glass feedback scales? Maybe there is a contaminant on the z?

Your g254 sounds similar to our fanuc g68.2 I think
So you have a model of your fixture and you part solid in its respective position and program by making planes on the sides and top of the part.
There's probably a bunch of ways to do it but I always have a fixture and part model in their respective positions at a0 and c 0 so it can be loaded in camplete for verify. Even of no work is done at the a0c0 position I still use it as home in mastercam.
So when you face the top of the first part it would position to b-20 c0
-
I have heard that the carbon fiber dust in not good for the electronics also. An encoder can slip a tooth and the belts can wear
Is there a value in the external work offset?
-
If I were to do i't home would be a0 c0 and planes would be relative to that.
I'm probably spoiled by the tilting work plane.

Big kaiser spindles can use face taper locating tool holders.
Our matsuura have the big kaiser spindle in bt40.
Out yasda Is hsk32 and the er25 holders look almost silly. The nut is bigger than the taper.
But for light cuts and mold work it's probably better than cat or BT 30

I messed up the reply box, but I usually start the program with the coolant neglect on and single block down. When ready to go I switch the key to setup stop the spindle start coolant and start the spindle. Then back to run and cycle start.
Be happy nothing happens when you push the button. Our vplus 1000 gives a sequence alarm if you hit the button. We lost 12 hours of a 40 hour cycle from a curious employee one night

Some machines have an m code to initialize the tool table. You would need to reload them in the correct order but they would be in numerical order.
Over time the magazine is probably the most random it can be. Maybe a fresh start will help

Does 2018 still use the hasp manager? We always had to switch ours on new installs of x9 to the net hasp

A cycle was mis used. Did you try to tap with a drill cycle or vice versa

Could this be a cutter comp value error?
On a fanuc if you have positive comp more than a radius you will get an alarm with good code.
Ex .005 comp with a .004 lead in radius
