  1. Change your gap size to about 300% of the stepover. This will eliminate the retract moves. I would also change your motion to broken and have the gouge protectors all on.
  2. Analyze - Dynamic and picking the small radius surface will give you the min radius of curvature.
  3. Rory, On your tool parameters page, right click on the tool. Go to it's parameters page and change the cycle to Tap even if it says Tap. This will make the spindle speed negative on the tool parameters page. Do not click in the spindle speed or the feed rate boxes because it updates automatically.
  4. Make sure you change the cycle to tap. There is also a switch to change from 0 (R.H.) to 1 (L.H.) on the same page. I know mpmaster works.
  5. I also put a toolpath (rough pocket) on this part. There are two problem areas where I went in and fix them.
  6. I converted both the files for you with no problems. They both contain solids. The version umber was 11.1 for both input and output. They are located in the same folder on the ftp site.
  7. If you have V8.1.1 you do not need to install these patches.
  8. Mike - Try uping the maximum number of points per spline. Try 4000, that is the default. For your second question, up at the top of the tech tips page you can "show all topics".
  9. I looked at your file. I tried creating a sweeped surface. This did not give me internal sharp corners. I will upload this file on the ftp site. The file name is sweep_no sharp corners.mc8.
  10. Hi, I am new to this Forum. The top Cplane is your default. To change this go screen, configure, Start/Exit. There are two settings here: one to set your default contruction plane and another to turn on or off updating your cplane and tplane when changing gview. Hope this helps.
