I was 19 years old when my daughter was born .. I figured the positive side of things was that I would still be young enough to be able to deal with a teanager as it wasn't so long ago I went thru it ...well she's 16 now .. grey hair started at the age of 29 ..I'm 35 now ..and I don't understand squat about a 16 yr old ... boy was I wrong ..
Actually it was in Version 7 .. just checked my old version ... I took the class thru my dealer and it was definetly a valuable thing to do .. I still stumble around but it gave me a running start ... good luck ..

again.. Adjustable speeds and feeds for finishing right in the pocketing routines so you can rough at one feed then finish at a different one without creating an additional operation...
Personally I think it's a waste of time ..stuff like that can get really personal and hurt the board.. you could have people that give good information that won't post anymore because someone wants to give them a low rating for whatever reason .. just my 2 cents ..

While IGES is easy it can also be a nightmare Rick .. It can import as untrimmed surfaces etc.. the atdvantage to using the direct pro-e e file or .prt file is it can be imported as a true solid which is much easier to work with..iges will only import as surfaces ..
Mike,
We actually do a lot of Inc 600 and 718 here with indexable tooling ..the key is lots of coolant ..we actually started high pressure coolant at 1200 psi to get better finishes and tool life in our main shop ...
Also ..lots of coolant .. if you can use coolant thru tools do so .. Inconel tends to work harden easily if you don't keep it cool ..and once you work harden it you wont get thru it ..
My Partner here tried to do some hard tapping ..he neglected to check the spindle speed and attempted to tap at 5000 RPM on a milltronics ..needless to say the spindle was moving way to fast to stop at the desired depth ...
35 Here.. Went to the Greater Lawrence Voc for high school from 79-83 and started Co-op in 82 ..been doin it ever since .. worked in defense until 11 years ago ..then I moved into Semi ..I now work in a model shop ..
I'm not sure I totally understand your question but if you change just the tool heights at the machine then you just change it at the machine as it looks to the height offset in the g code.. if your changeing dia of the tool the same will apply providing youir using cutter compenstion.. if your not using cutter comp then you have to update the dia every time ....does this help at all?
I'm trying to translate a file thru the DWG converter and they tell me that the solid is embedded in the file. Is there a way to extract just a solid from an autocad file? Everything I try appears to give me a single 2d file ...
Thanks
Kevin
I have a '99 Fadal 4020 here with the cooled spindle and I have the same problem ..I use the black oxide coated holders and that doesn't help.. I also use Blazer coolant. I haven't found a fix for this either... if anyone has any other idea's I'd like to know too ..
Thanks
Kev
