  1. Thanks for the replies. Thanks Paul, good tips.
  2. This has been asked I'm sure but I could not find the thread if it is out there. How do you edit your post in X?
  3. Paul. Thanks for the reply, I appreciate the help. Dave
  4. Sorry I must just be hopeless. Forgive me....just delete this post.
  5. I used to get output in my tool path windows for misc int settings that had a label in plain english like "work offset 1=G54" ect. Now using the same post they are just greyed out, and have no label anymore. How do I fix this?
  6. Yes, tried "renumber tools" without any effect. Even when I renumber them in the op manager they reset themselves. No doubt there is problems with tool numbering, also the dia. and length offset. These default to the library tool number and have to be manually changed evey time. I've already set the control manager tool numbering parameters to add 0 to all too length offset numbers, still defaults to the library tool number. No such problems with 9.1. second tool picked defaults to 2, with length and dia offset of 2 like it should be. I'm with you I think it's a bug, should be addressed if it is not already.
  7. Yes that is what I did too, just close it down and re-load the file. I had to do that because I accidently made a copy, the XFORM seems to default to copy. That got overlayed with my original and deleting all of those edge curves would have taken forever. Much less time just to close the file and re-open, start over.
  8. Yea but a translate of a solid was undo-able in ver 9.1. Seems like that should work.
  9. OK I found what I was doing wrong. http://www.emastercam.com/ubb/ultimatebb.p...ic;f=1;t=016224 This thread explains it.
  10. Problem is that all I did was rotate a solid -90 degrees. As far as I can tell that should not be on the "something we should not do" or "doing something stupid" list. I get out of the function and undo is still greyed out. Try it and see if you get the same result.
  11. My undo button is greyed out after I translate a solid. The file has been posted on the FTP in the X section "hammer", maybe a file issue? Am I missing a button somewhere?
  12. I just loaded "Hammer new" to the FTP under X files. I can't seem to get a contour or pocket path on this thing. It was built with SW 06, and verifies as a solid, I also tried bringing it in with MC direct as .sldprt, .XT, STEP, no change. The 3d toolpaths seem to recognize the head part of the hammer but cut through the handle, or no surfaces are selected when I try to select them.
  13. What a great feature, I can see myself using this quite a bit.
  14. I figured it out, I was trying to generate tabs on a solid with extracted edge curves, I think that was confusing the software it did not know what chain to use, lot of branch points there. I moved all except the c plane chain to another level and it worked.
  15. Cool idea, looking forward to using it. I tried today to generate some but with auto tab selected no tabs show up in backplot or verify, when I tried to add them manually I got a crash to the desktop after being prompted to pick the chain and position. Anyone having this problem?
  16. And there it is. Thanks Gcode, I would have never found it.
  17. I just downloaded and installed this, I have SW 05 and 06 on my machine. I don't know where it went? I looked in both program's menu system and the top toolbars as well as MCX menu and toolbars. Where is it?
  18. Got mine yesterday, MLC was kind enough to include the codes with the package.
  19. Yep, I run three SIMs on one USB hub too, no problems.
  20. Look through rotary axis settings in your post, there should be a setting for rotary axis limits or max rotation...something like that. I'd try adjusting this to a low number like 360 and see if the post output will reset to zero when it comes around. You'll know when you see that setting because it will be set to some large number (6 digits or more) That may not be how it works but it would take less than a min to try. Save a copy of your original post before messing with it. Rename the changed one.
  21. Ah, my mistake. They need to default to the tool number, like tool 1, height 1, dia 1, then tool 2 height 2 dia 2 etc. You know how to make that happen? I've looked through machine def, control def, and just about every other menu I could find. If I just need to put those in by hand I guess that will have to do.
  22. If I opened the planes function for example then closed it by selecting top, I would be in selection mode and be drawing a rectangle on the screen. I would have to click on the screen once to exit the selection function.
  23. Well the tool settings tab has the option to add to tool diameter, and length, and to take the dia, and length from the tool. I have "from tool" checked. Problem is mine always defaults to zero for these two values even if the tool definition says that the length is 3 and the diameter is 0.5. Any ideas?
  24. Nope, I did not click on the screen, this was happening if I hit a green check at the end of a function or a red x to exit a function. It self clicks if I have the preselection radio button checked. No problems with preselection off.
