Hi All, Is it possible to do a plunge entry with dynamic contour? I have some thru pockets that I've pre-drilled an opening for so I can just plunge in with my endmill and start a dynamic path to finish out said pockets. The result I'm getting is a ramped contour down to my geometry and there is no entry method tab for to edit parameters. Even setting all linking parameters to incremental zero will not force it to plunge. Is this just not possible or am I missing something? This is in 2017, by the way. Thanks.

Hello, First post. I have searched all that my limited knowledge allows and have not found an answer. Please feel free to point me to existing threads or correct my wording. I have come across several occasions that I would like to apply the "Optimize Cut Order" check box as found in the Finishing Contour Tool Path. This does exactly what I want it to do in Contour, but I can't find this same option under Roughing Pocket. I use MasterCam as an add-on for SoldWorks. I have created a fill pattern of hexagons cut through a flat plate. I want the interior of the hexagons to be fully cut away (thus Pocket) and I want this to happen one hexagon at a time, not all hexagon cut to the same Z depth before going on to the next Z depth. Thanks in advance for any suggestions that you may have. I am currently running X9 and hope that this kind of inconsistency will go away when we transition to 2018 for our next licensing year (end of this month). Best Regards, Ben...

Pic related, it's the geometry of the finished part. problem is every time I use rough/finish to make a toolpath, it just turns the OD and completely ignores the contour. If I go point-to-point, it creates huge steps that my groove won't be able to finish. if I do plunge-turn, it'll hit the contour, but it cuts torward the positive on the angles. I just want it to be one, simple pass. start at beginning of contour>cut angle/radius>cut "flat">cut front angle/radius>done. I don't understand why the rough/finish toolpaths aren't making the cut, and there aren't any settings to my knowledge that'll let me plunge/turn negatively exclusively, in one foul swoop please excuse my noobiness, I'm still pretty new at this and i'm having to teach myself. thanks
