Hi everyone! I have a B, C axis limit problem on head head 5 axis Mach3 router. In milling 5 axis fine surface with flat end mill, when it goes to upper limit in C axis, it just stops in material and start spinning head for 180 degree. That spinning is fine, but in some safe distance, not in material. It is making a big circle on surface which must be perfect clean. Worst thing is that rotation isn't in simulation, so I don't know exact points where it will be spinning around. Is there any solution to make a command inside operation to go to safe distance before start aligning it's axis? Thanks for your help!

So, I understand what the error is, but I can't find anyway to program it out. Multi-surface doesn't seem to have any way to define an approach angle. How do you deal with this in mastercam? Seriously, how does mastercam not know where to start? the first line of the toolpath has a "B" and a "C" output, maybe it should start there?!? J

I've been programming a HAAS VF-3 at work with mastercam for a while now and I just started trying to program the HAAS SL-20 turning center with live tooling. The part included a hexagon to be milled into it. When using mastercam's c-axis face contour toolpaths it output gcode that commanded very specific C moves. But apparently my machine doesn't have a c axis, just live tooling. I eventually hand coded the polygon with the G77 cycle as follows: T707 S10 M03 M133 P2500 G00 X3. Z-2.202 G77 J0.312 L6 R0.5 G98 G01 X4. F20. M135 M05 G28 U0. W0. That worked fine, but what I would rather is have MasterCAM output the gcode my machine understands. The problem might just be my post processor, or that I have the machine definition setup wrong, but I'm really not sure. Any help would be much appreciated.
