Anyone seen this before?

It appears in my lower right hand corner when I leave the computer for a while with design running.

yeah It often comes on my pc

particularly when doing some heavy work.

But I am seeing this from I think version 7.2

It is Norton Live Update Notification. A window popped up, then moved down after a few seconds, leaving artifacts on screen.

Just hit F3 to refresh ur screen, should fix it.

And turn off Live Update only run in the mornin or evenin.

Try buying more RAM or split your file into multiple files. Example, one for ruffing and one for finishing.

I'll vote the norton thing. I got plenty of ram. I have seen the low ram icon after rotating and copying multiple surfaces.

 

It really isn't a problem, just one of those things I didn't know what was. I hate mysteries unsolved.

oops . . . thought he was referring to the hard drive symbol.

 

As far as where I got the info concerning the hard drive symbol and what it means came from classes on OS and Windows. Sorry, I can't be more specific. This was a few years back.

I would vote on the Norton thing. Itdoes not look like the image that comes up when you've run out of ram. That image has a little green dot that represents the light on a Hard Drive. If that image comes up the system will come to a crawl. If it running OK it is probably Norton or your email notification that came up and went down while you were away from your PC.

Ok maybe not norton, I have live update set to go off on thursdays and I posted that on a friday.

Code breaker is right, this is a drive icon

telling you to get more ram or a new computer

 

Live update is in that corner, but is

yellow or all blank white during multi task

@ startup....when auto live update occurs

So why is it so large in comparison to the drive icon I have seen bfore?

Also I got my allocations set high but I have plenty of ram too.....

Looks like some onPaint messages that went ignored to me. What else do you have running in the system tray that can pop up a window (instant messenger, email notifications, etc...)?

I used to have the low memory icon on my old pc. Its NOT getting my vote this time. I agree with some of the others on a screen refresh issue.

Nope, nothing that pops up but the live update reminder on wednesday. IM's get me into trouble as you know (divorces and stuff)so I don't use them any more.
