Changing Tool Numbers.

Hello everyone, I am having an issue with my tool number changing when i select a tool from my self created library. The tool offsets stay the same as the tool number set in the library but the tool number comes in as 1 if its the first tool chosen in a program and subsequent tools chosen come as sequential tool numbers. I have tool 5 as a 1/2 end mill with corresponding head and offset numbers. When i select this tool from the library i want tool numbers and offsets to match. ie.. tool number 5 in the program with offsets 5 for length and diameter. Can anyone shed some light on this topic? Thanks

Yes, when you save a new tool to your library, save it as the tool number that you want it to have...

When you're programming, make sure you uncheck the option to Assign tool numbers sequentiallyo

We use to be able through the Operation defaults in the MCD(Machine Control Definition). Not sure anymore been years since I changed any of them.

I believe it's a global setting and once you check it, it will remain checked for future programs.
