MACROS WITH FANUC O-M

THIS MIGHT BE DIRECTED TO A VERY SMALL AUDIENCE SINCE NOT TOO MANY PEOPLE SEEM TO BE USING A FANUC O-M CONTROL. HOWEVER, I AM WONDERING IF IT IS POSSIBLE TO CREATE MACROS WITH THIS CONTROL TO STORE WORK OFFSETS AND Z OFFSETS INSTEAD OF PUNCHING THEM IN BY HAND. I HAVE SEEN IT DONE ON OTHER MACHINES

have you tried loading them with the program

 

G90 G10 L2 P1 X? Y? Z? = work offsets

 

P1 thru P6 = G54 thru G59

This is possible as long as you have the macro option turned on on the control.

Yeah, it all hinges on weather or not you have Custom Macro B on the machine.

 

A quick test would be to run this program;

 

O0001(MILL SPINDLE BREAK IN)

(#101=MAXIMUM RPM)

(#102=DWELL CHANGE RPM)

Basically this Macro will ramp up your spindle speed in increments of 500 RPM until it reaches 10000 then go back down in increments of 500 RPM until it reaches 500 RPM then it stops.

I don't remember exactly but I think you can download the work offsets through your control to your computer. Go to your work offsets, look for punch. It will download as workoff (I Think?). Just rename it to want you want.
