Is there any way I can output a text file for our CMM without having to move the model to world origin instead of using the models locale axis?

Do you have V9 could use the WCS and that should take care of it. If not then yes might have to move the file for that very reason.

Select CPLANE, alt-O. This gives you a toolplane origin. Data in a toolpath will be with respect to that new origin.

I'm useing v9.1 . When I creating check points for inspection with vetor lines and the model is out in space from world origin (mastercam origin) and i'm in the locale axis and project the points with vector lines and have it output a text file so the CMM software can read it, all the x,y,z, are from the world origin not the locale axis.

In the Tool Plane/Construction Plane dialog box, you can set the planes for construction and machining. You can also set the tool plane, construction plane, and working coordinate system origins. The Tool plane section includes an additional option for setting the work offset for the toolpath. Note that you can also set the work offset in conjunction with a named view set as a WCS view.

The arrow buttons between the Tool plane and Construction plane sections of the dialog box let you copy values from one section of the dialog box to the other.

 

To select a plane for the WCS, you select from the View Manager.
