Dimensioning

Hi All,

I am dimensioning a bunch of holes. I am using Create, Drafting, Dimension, Point. Then picking the center point. But, I don’t want it to display the Z value every time and I have to edit it out. Is there a way around this? Thanks,

Try this...

Create, Drafting, Globals, Dimension Text (2nd tab), here in the bottom middle section called "point dimension" select "2D label"

Have you tried changing the Point Dimensions setting in your global drafting setttings? Go Create | Drafting | Globals. Then click on the Dimension Text tab and look for the radio group called Point Dimensions. Hope this helps

More info...

lou - If you go into Screen, Configure, Cad settings, Draft settings-Globals" then make your change (2D points) you will be prompted to save those settings in mill.cfg. Otherwise you will have to reset the "2D points" everytime you restart Mastercam.

Normally I'm a fast typer (programmer hands) but the A/C is kickin' in our office today, so it's a little chilly. Thus, making it hard to type fast with cold hands. Yeah, that's my excuse..er, answer
