Version 5 Execution problem

Dear All

One of our customer still uses Version5. He had some problems with the HASP and we got the replacement from CNC.

The Activator/M Green lock is updated successfully. But while starting Mastercam it displays a warning "Ativator/M SIM not found" and does not open Mastercam.

CNC Technical support sent a solution to add in autoexec.bat set ssi_act=125,125,125

150,150,150 or 200,200,200.

It still did not work. We tried on both Windows95 and NT Operating Systems.

CAN ANY BODY HELP????????

Regards

Sudhakar

I am assuming the Activator/M SIM is still being used. (As stated earlier, the HASP is not supported by v5.x)

We had an issue like this with one of our clients. They are still sticking with Entry 5.5 but of course went out and purchased a new PIII 800+MHz computer with a 21" monitor, 16 MB video card, 40GB hard disk, etc, etc...

Seems the PC was too fast for the Activator/M no matter what we set the ssi_act variable to!

Was the PC upgraded or change just prior to the SIM problem?

Another possibility has to do with OS's and printer drivers.

For instance if Windows ME does not have a printer installed it does not turn on the parallel port. Nice huh?

HP printer drivers are also notorious for turning off the parallel prot when the printer is not in use.

Often time the ONLY solution is to get a second parallel port on a PCI card and plug the SIM into that.

I haven't had a problem running an Activator/M SIM on a fast machine (PIII 933).
