I am guessing it is so that you can load each roughing cutter to it's usual limits, usually given as a percentage of it's diameter, and then when you have roughed everything out, you are left with an even amount of material on the part, that when removed should give you an even finish.

Sorry mate. I did,nt check back before i went.

I have my last day at Tafe on the 2nd of December and my boss Myself and Smithy might go out for a drink.
