where did my lead-in, lead-out go

Here's my problem, the lead-in and lead-out is disappearing on my programs, thus when the program is ran at the machine the part has an inch routed out of it where the tool entered and ended, but if I go back into the same program and just view my settings for lead-in and lead-out it adds the .375 to the tool path for the cutter to enter the part, thus not creating a mis-rout.

Did you change the tool in that op after initially programming it? This will happen if you programme an op with say a 10mm tool with 55% leadin, and then change to a 20mm tool. Unless you go back and open up the lead in/out menu it will still only use a lead in of 55% of the 10mm tool.

 

Been caught before.

Are you using tangent or perpendicular lead in/ lead out?

What does it show in backplot?

Thanks for the quick reply, I did not change tool sizes( but that is a good tip to watch out for), and the lead in is tangent, when I backplot it shows the part being hit by the tool, but if I go into the lead in settings and just open it( not change anything) I can backplot and it now shows the lead in???

Maybe this is a dumb question, but do you have the lead in/out box checked? You can have values in the dialog box, but if the box isn't checked in the parameters page, it won't do it.

Maybe it's the gouge-check in the lead-in lead-out menu. Disable, and see wat happen

I have the box checked, it is saved in my library that way. I also do not have the gouge-check enabled, the box is empty!!

i know with mill it wont work unless you are comped to the left or right. could that be a possiblity? i've been frustrated by that one before.
