MC 9 Machining Time

O.K. Another problem. As I said earlier, this is a new machine so all my old settings are history. I machine a simple pocket and the "Machining Time" says it is around 90 hours. In the real world it is around 20 minutes give or take 5. What is up with that.

Is this in 'Backplot'? If so check your Display settings, s/b Endpoints (I think)

also check your post setting for rapid traverse rate. have you posted a setup sheet? that will be more accurate

Endpoints are checked. Still bad times. On the setup sheet. It gives me the same number. Is there something I should be checking in that to make it more accurate. My old computer was a 1.78 GHz machine. I whined to get a new one. It is a 3.4 GHz. After a new install of MC9.1 SP2 I can't seem to get all my settings corrected. Most are coming right along but others are bad. I am getting bad feedrates, something that was a thing of the past on my old system.

I just went in and UNCHECKED the "adjust feedrate on arc", did a backplot - same thing. Did a regen and backplot - bingo that was it. What the heck is that "adjust feedrate on backplot" for anyway?

"Adjust feedrate on arc" allows you to slow down in the corners, allowing the tool to cut a truer radius and not deflect as much.
