Good Morning all

 

We are begining to work on a post for our Haas TL1. Does anyone know which generic post from Mastercam would work the best to begin with?

If it were me, I'd start with the mplfan post.

Make sure you get the newest version off your newest install disc.

There have been a few discussions of Haas lathe posts in the past couple months here; take a shot at a search and you might find somebody that'll share something with you

we started with the gen post.works good with a little tweak.

Ok (whew) We finally got a post to actually cut the part that we want. We started with the mplfan post from the Mastercam cd. The only problem is that after every operation this post sends the tool to machine home G28. How can we get it to send the tool to the user defined home that we have input into mastercam?

Home is safe. When I was programming lathes that's were I liked it to go for tool changes. A few more seconds was wasted but at least I knew I wasn't shearing off tools with the chuck jaws. Been there done that. Is it a large machine ? The machines I programmed were mostly small so home wasn't to far away.

We are using a tail stock and machine home is on the other side of the tail stock so, we must home all the tools somewhere between the tail stock and the chuck.

on the parameters page for lathe ops in the bottom right corner is a feature called home postion. you can drive the home position from the

system default, user defined or tool definition.

After setting a user defined home on the lathe parameters page our post still outputs a G28 U0 W0 which send the lathe to machine home. Any ideas on how to edit this post to output the home settins from MC?
