Morse taper Reamers

Help!

 

Our client gave us this new job and they a requesting morse taper holes. Which means that we need morse taper reamers. We di some search with local distributors and they told us that these kind of reamers are obsolete (they do not make them anymore). Do any of you guys can point me in the right direction that I should look for.

I have bought them, I can ask my tool rep where he gets them if you dont find anything sooner. Although not Morse taper, I have been cutting some tapered holes using a 1" plunge type insert mill and a very very gradual ramp. You can rough them out pretty quickly then come back in with a light cut, very slight ramp angle, and very high feed rate and get some pretty good results. HTH ~~~~~~~~Shady

If you could please ask your rep, tht would be very appreciated. I know I can rough them like you said but these are for taper morse dowel pins so we need a taper morse reamer.

I highly doubt that morse taper reamers are obsolete.

Perhaps when the world stops using tools that have morse tapers they will be,but that is a long way off.
